What People Say

In summary

Citrus Springs Golf & Country Club is appreciated for its interesting layout with numerous doglegs and a scenic setting. Many visitors find the course to be a good value, with friendly staff and well-maintained greens, although some areas like fairways and cart paths are noted to be in need of improvement. However, there are criticisms regarding the overall condition of the course, including reports of slow play and management issues, which detract from the experience for some golfers.

In a beautiful setting this course has passed its best time … lots of dog legs right and left and hills make it interesting even though the fairways are not in the best of shape ! On a positive note the greens have peen preserved in good shape ! For the price it was great fun !!!

I like golfing here. The course is interesting with lots of doglegs. The carts are also very nice and the place seems like it is very well cared for. Some of the greens have bare spots but the fairways are nice. Tee boxes are well cared for. The staff is also friendly. Great value for the money. It would get 5 stars if it weren't for several of the greens. I highly recommend this course.

Can not warn you enough.... Have not seen a course in worse shape that was still open. If you and the boys want to go have a drunken day of hacking up a goat farm... This could work. Look at the pick of what I had to putt thru... It became comical. The groups out are the worst golfers ever So pace was beyond slow. Pro Shop resemblance of a yard sale with less selection.

A good layout but they are letting it go. Lots of confusion when they have scrambles. Cheap enough so worth a look.

Previously well kept golf course with great greens, and layout, is in need of groundskeeping. Disappointed in current condition, as I played here when it was an excellent public course, and was a favorite of most of my golf buddies. Current employees are great, lack of funds from owners needed is the issue. Playable, but in poor condition in a lot of areas.

Best course in the area. Well taken care of. Great prices on alcohol. I don't understand these comments about it being in bad shape. As of today, it's been restored and the best round of golf I've had in florida.

I'm sorry but the course is in horrible shape. It needs some serious work. The bar seems ok but i won't ever play there again.

Didn't even get to play the course the day we went. Looked over booked, only had the back 9 available. We arent the best golfers, and If we dont hit off the tee in 2 shots, we move on and keep the game going. We didnt get but 5 minutes into the day before the starter came and told us we arent good enough to be on the course after trying our 2 shots off the tee, and letting people pass by as to not hold them up.

I played Citrus Springs Golf and Country Club for the first time today. Here is my honest, candid review. In short, it is a classic case of you get what you pay for. For $25 on a Sunday afternoon you have no reason to complain. THE GOOD: 1) The staff was welcoming and amazing. 2) The drinks were cheap. 3) It is evident that this course has seen better days..(hey haven't we all) but the layout is fantastic...makes me wish I could use the way-back machine and see it in it prime. 4) The greens were not Augusta, but they were definitely the best part of the course in its current condition. 5) I p…

This course is horrible. Tee box's are un-level and choppy. Fairways are all dirt and some greens have craters. Need atv's for the cart paths. Almost always over booked even though it don't show it when you book tee times. Got stuck behind a group of 8 all playing together. No pace of play. Only decent thing is the bar.

Great layout………….UNFORTUNATELY the course is in horrible condition. We are told that they’re up staffing crew (at the expense of its sister course) but for now, course isn’t worth the price of gas to drive there. Too bad there is not a 1/4 star rating.
