What People Say

In summary

Colonial Golf Course in Meridianville is frequently praised for its well-maintained greens and fairways, challenging layout, and friendly, attentive staff. The course offers a good value, and recent renovations have enhanced the overall experience. However, some visitors have noted issues with the GPS cart-locking system and the absence of a driving range, while peak times can lead to a crowded course and slower pace of play.

Oh, you know, gee — we had such a good time playing at Colonial Golf Course in Meridianville! The Fairway Golf Society Queens and I had an absolute blast. The course was in great shape, and we definitely made the most of the day — even though the marshal had to get on to us a few times (yes, we admit it… we weren’t exactly following all the rules 😅). No complaints at all — just good vibes, lots of laughs, and great memories. Next time, we’ll probably pick a less busy time so we can play at our own pace and really soak it all in. Either way, Colonial was a fun experience and we’ll be back for…

The pro shop was well stocked and the employees were very kind. When I mentioned I had never been there before, they made sure to to show me where all the amenities were located. I came as a single, walking, and they paired me with men with golf carts; one single and two guys riding together. Together. Not terrible, but I did have to hoof it to keep up but thankfully the course is really made for walkers. Not a lot of elevation changes, not a lot of walking between greens and two boxes. The course is in pretty good condition, except for under trees and I play a lot from the edges. Ground under…

This 18-hole, 72-par course is beautifully designed, with lush greens, well-maintained fairways, and challenging rough. Recent renovations include flawless grass carpets and superbly renovated greens, enhancing the overall playability. The facilities are top-notch, featuring a welcoming clubhouse and a pro shop. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable visit. The cart boys deserve special mention for their enthusiasm and mannerisms. As a veteran, I appreciated the much-appreciated discount, showing the club's support for the military community. The o…

Met some amazing local golfers whom felt like we had known for a long time. Course was tight, greens were great. Layout was challenging but fair. Would play again most definitely.

I'll give it four stars , because I only had a chance to play 4 holes before lightning and thunderstorms, shut my round down. I hope to go back and play the whole course.Friendly staff but through 4 holes no issues. Based off of the first four holes I would recommend this course.

The course is a great value. The pace of play is usually good, but the course is crowded at peak times with roughly 10 minutes between tee times. The fairways are in great shape and the greens are good for this price point. The four star rating is for the decline of the greens since the spring. The greens were nearly perfect during March - May, but a rainy period during June along with people not fixing their pitch marks has left the greens looking pock-marked. They still generally roll well, but they are unsightly with some trouble areas. With all that said, you're probably not going to find…

I've been coming to this course for years and played it again October 2025 for the first time in a while. I've never seen this course in better shape than it is right now. Greens are outstanding and the fairways are great too. The clubhouse renovations look really great. Incredible value! I hope this course gets a driving range sometime in the future

Great course; have played it before in tournaments. There is no driving range, so the first tee can be a bit nerve wracking. Saturday morning was quite busy; however, that's to be expected. Course was in good shape.

Played Colonial (7/28/25) and really enjoyed it. The course is in really good shape. The rough is really a challenge and very easy to lose balls in. The greens were a little beat-up from golfers not repairing ballmarks, which is a problem everywhere it seems. Overall the course was in good shape for the recent weather conditions and is a great value and truly enjoyable place to play. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Look forward to playing again when I am back in town.

Night golf tournament every year here is a tradition of ours. I have played this course 1000 times or more. I worked there in high school and it will always be my home course. It wasin Great shape also. Clubhouse had a lot of nice apparel and equipment also. A lot of bang for your buck here.
