In summary

Cottonwood Golf Course is generally appreciated for its well-maintained greens, friendly staff, and challenging yet enjoyable layout, making it a popular choice for golfers of varying skill levels. The course offers a good value, with affordable rates and a welcoming atmosphere, particularly highlighted by the personable staff members like Rob and Doris. Beautiful day for golf. Greens were aerated 2 weeks ago and coming back nicely, so only 4 stars. Otherwise course and clubhouse a pleasure. Thank you.

Restaurant - What was a 5 star for us is now a 1 star. We had a nice lunch on the outside patio and the food was good. We got home and when I looked at the bill I noted we had been charged for 4 beer when we only had 2. I immediately sent an email with a copy of the receipt and asked for the error to be corrected. I never received a reply at all. We used to eat at this restaurant quite often, took all our friends and family there. We will not be returning. Super disappointed.

The course was very nice and well kept. Unfortunately, some of the fairways were as hard as the cart paths. We ate in the restaurant 30 minutes prior to closing. The meals were mediocre and rushed. I would golf there again, but I would not eat in the restaurant.

I have been golfing here for several years and the course is in the best condition I’ve seen it in. The restaurant is incredible and serves high-quality food at a very affordable prices. The staff are always friendly and are always happy to see you. This is a great place to bring friends and family for a round of golf and a bite to eat and a good drink at the bar. You have to try their signature drink, the Saltwater Cowboy!

If I could give this 4-1/2 stars, I would. Cottonwood Golf near Nanaimo airport was in great shape. Tough enough, yet forgiving enough. Some wide-open fairways, some can be narrower. Greens were in very good condition and surprisingly fast for October in BC. Although we rode, this course is definitely walkable, with few elevation changes. Friendly staff, as well! Definitely will play again!

The customer service here is amazing specifically the very personable Rob and Doris who go above and beyond and make you feel at home. For what it is the course is solid. It’s definitely not a ‘championship course’ but they work hard at it, and it’s a solid variety of holes. However due to the location of the course it can get quite wet and doesn’t drain the greatest, there’s nothing much that can be done about that. I had been an intermediate member here for years in the past for an absolute steal. Probably the best deal in Vancouver Island for an intermediate golf membership. Thank you for t…

Good variety of holes. Still charging summer rates into the fall season. Some fairways were aerated and not yet cleaned. Lots of leaves and debris on the greens and fairways. Playing as you would expect in the fall. Def not worth peak season rates. Pheasant Glenn is currently cheaper which is definitely an eye opener

I’m so disappointed in my first and last experience at the cottonwood golf course. I want to start off first by saying the staff at this course is amazing they were all very kind for the entirety of our 9 holes. I came here with a group of 6 for a my friends birthday and everyone on the course was rude and stuck up while my group had nothing but respect and good golf educate. If you are looking for a place to enjoy a round of golf and time with friends this is the last place I recommend!

How can this place only have 43 reviews! A nice hidden gem. I thought this course track was well maintained and a super good challenge. With some fresh paint here and there on signage and clubhouse, etc, this will be a 5 star. Had a tough time with course today and shot 18 over exact and lost 6 balls in the process but that was all me taking chances. If you hit the ball straighter and put away the driver...you will score better here! The grass is very tall and thick in the rough areas and you will not find your ball! Or odd one only. The price at 2 pm starting was very reasonable too!
