What People Say

In summary

Crooked Tree Golf Course is generally appreciated for its well-maintained greens and fairways, offering a challenging yet enjoyable experience with a distinct contrast between the tight, older front nine and the more open, modern back nine. The course is recognized for its affordability and friendly staff, with amenities like GPS-equipped carts enhancing the experience. However, some visitors have noted issues with slow pace of play, maintenance disruptions, and additional fees, which can detract from the overall experience.

If I could give this course 0, I would. 4 of us paid for 18, so $200. We had 2 new people & we made a tee time a week ahead of time because of that. On hole 5, we had a course manager tell us we were taking too long & needed to speed it up. Fine. I told him we had 2 new people & we’re fine if people played through. He said “they don’t do that here”. Same manager proceeded to stare, watch & follow us until the end of hole 9. I tried to go back in & at least get our money back for the back 9 & they wouldn’t refund us. Negative -5star review. Will not be back. EVER!

Played the day after the masters, pace of play wasn’t an issue for me. Can’t even tell the greens were aerated recently. The front 9 is tight, but short, and almost none of the fairways or greens are flat. Front 9 greens are small, and are all angled pretty drastically, so leaving your ball below the hole is a must. Kinda feels like clown golf sometimes but it does make GIRs feel special. The back 9 is a newer more modern design that reminds me of Greensboro National or Bryan Park and is where you can really get some scoring done. Bigger, less severely sloped greens. Wider fairways, and recept…

The greens and fairways were incredibly well maintained. The greens held very well and the fairways were lush and well groomed. The front nine is definitely more challenging with narrow fairways and smaller greens, but the back nine opens up more and the greens were significantly larger. I did knock it down a little because of the sand traps. We've had a fair amount of rain recently, but the traps were mostly lakes. When I did play out of one, the sand was only an inch thick with red, damp clay underneath...made blasting a ball out nearly impossible. Carts had GPS and media. Truly enjoyed the…

Played a round at Crooked Tree recently and had a great time! This course offers a unique blend of challenges. The front nine is quite tight, so be prepared for a few stray balls from neighboring fairways – it definitely keeps you on your toes! In contrast, the back nine opens up nicely, offering a more expansive feel. Overall, it's a challenging yet incredibly fun course to play. What really stood out were the greens and fairways; they are in fantastic shape, honestly better maintained than many other courses in the area. And the best part? The price is under $50, which is a real steal compa…

Wide open golf course, but will eat your lunch if underestimated. A couple difficult water holes keep you on your toes.

This place advertises on ESPN that they have some of the best greens in the Triad. These greens are not even close to being the some of the best, but they are some of the worse. Obvious over watering, golfers don’t fix ball marks and they don’t rake bunkers. The sand bottles on the cart are always empty and the GPS yardages are inaccurate because when they change the cup they don’t update the GPS system. The front nine is an old style executive course, while the back nine is pretty wide open. The staff and the ownership are rude and absolutely clueless. Don’t waste your time or your money beca…

Course is always in great shape! Left my range finder and came back 2 months later on a day they were closed and the owner personally came to open up so I could get it. Top notch!

Use to be our go-to course. Between my friends and I we would spend over $1500.00 a month at Crooked Tree. Greens are nice and fairway well kept. Bunkers have very little sand and may have water in them for several days after a rain. The front nine fairways have several drainage farrows running thru them. The majority of carts are extremely slow and really need replaced. Owners seem to care less about the golfers. During the week the maintenance crew will work right through your game. Sometimes you may have the misfortune of being followed around on several holes with mowers, or a guy watering…

Respectable maintained course marred by high potential to get hit by errand balls from golfers who are too proud to say 'fore'. A must play at least once before dying.
