In summary

Dogwood Hills Country Club receives praise for its enjoyable golf course layout, particularly the interesting elevation changes and dogleg holes, as well as the friendly and attentive staff. The restaurant is frequently highlighted for its excellent food and service, making it a popular choice even for non-golfers. However, some visitors mention that the course can be challenging when wet, and there are occasional concerns about the condition of the greens and rough areas.

Wanted to post a review on the course since it seems most reviews are on the restaurant. Haven’t played here in about 8-10 years. Was good to come back out after a sunny couple of weeks when the course wasn’t so wet. I’ve been wanting to play here for the past month but I know that if it rains a lot, the course stays extremely wet and is harder to find balls in the fairway, etc. I would probably give it 5 stars if a few things were fixed. The biggest is the rough. I know it’s county owned/maintained but in most places, the rough is knee high and thick. You have no chance of finding a ball in i…

This review is overdue. I was at this venue for a graduation celebration on Saturday, 12-17-22. It was my first time but I loved the venue and how the space was used. There were people there for golfing as well, but the parking was adequate for both events.

Amazing service, calming atmosphere....food was exceptional! I highly recommend this little out of the way place-indoor and outdoor seating, along with a bar as well.

My sweet husband treated us to lunch here a couple of days ago. I highly recommend checking it out. The 70 cent wings for their Thursday lunch special were very tasty; they were a good size and very crispy. The sweet whiskey flavor were especially good. The crab dip was delicious too. Our server was very courteous, polite and attentive. They offer an affordable menu with a gorgeous view. Just as we were sitting down at our table a hawk swooped down just on the other side of the window and landed on a post. (I'm highly fascinated by these beautiful birds) If you get a chance to check it out, yo…

Greens are in awful condition and if you pay for 18 but only play 9, doesn't matter. They will not give you a rain check for the other 9 you payed for but did not play. Who ever the gentleman with the African accent in the proshop needs to be fired.

My wife use to live in Walterboro and the only near by place to play golf was this 9 hole course, Dogwood Hills. It was a short but interesting course and fun to play. At that time it was semi-private and unless you were a member it was expensive to play even during the week. This proved to be a fatal flaw and their ultimate demise. I now understand that it has been purchased by the city and will become a municipal course. All I have to say is "it's about time". We now live in N. Charleston and have great golf close by our residence but when they re-open this course we will surely make it a po…

Great 9 hole run. Fun elevation changes. Lots of dogleg holes. New sand in the bunkers. Greens are a little rough but still fun.

We do not play golf, we went out there just to eat at the restaurant, the food and the service is top-notch, the waitress was very professional and did a good job taking care of her customers, the food was hot and well-prepared, we will certainly eat there again, good selection of items to choose from for lunch
