In summary

East Bay Golf Club receives praise for its friendly staff, challenging layout, and scenic views, making it a popular choice for golfers of all levels. However, some visitors have noted issues with course maintenance, including bumpy greens and sparse fairways, as well as slow pace of play and occasional unprofessional interactions with staff. Despite these concerns, many golfers enjoy the overall experience and amenities, such as the driving range and clubhouse offerings.

Do yourself a favor and read all the reviews and replies... Its really not worth the money or the trip here. Very rude customer service. Oh yeah, just a FYI I want to add it's a two person per cart minimum, which that rule is fine and all i understand liability and such but with a group of four on a week day with a empty parking lot. I was told we can't rent another cart.... I'm going to just leave this review as that as I don't need to go on about the rest, all the other reviews on here do justice. Have a great day!

The layout was interesting and the staff was friendly but the course was in terrible shape. Tee boxes were sloped, very little grass in the fairway and what grass there was is thin. Greens were slow and bumpy. The pace of play was brutal; 3 hours for the front nine and 2 1/2 for the back. Sad for me because my Mom and Dad lived on the sixth tee back in the day and I had fond memories. $62??? Not worth $40.

Horrible condition and slow moving. The greens are all bumpy and some have bare spots or grass tufts growing on them. Fairways have hardly any grass and the rough has clover. Most tee boxes are in rough shape as well. They should be charging $25 a round.

This would have been a 5-star experience for our group, but I want to mention an issue with a ranger’s professionalism today. We had an afternoon tee time, and the rangers allowed us to start early. Because we began about 25 minutes before our scheduled time, one person in our group mistakenly thought we had a little extra time on the first tee while he briefly helped his girlfriend with her swing. An older ranger in a light blue collared shirt came over and said he’d been watching us and that we needed to hurry up. That feedback is fair—pace of play matters and we understand keeping things…

My Husband and I play on this course often at least once a week and love to go into the club house after and have a drink and chit chat with other players as well as several locals that would hang out there in the evenings. We took a little break to try out some other local courses and clubhouses and was shocked to find out the clubhouse has changed ownership. When we walked in there was no-one inside no music playing. It was dark and drab, like walking into a crypt. It use to be so welcoming like walking into CHEERS, we knew everyone and they knew us. Although we still plan on playing golf he…

Just stopped in to check out the driving range for now til I have more time to play a round. Nice little spot and conveniently 3 blocks from my new residence. Irons Only of the range. Not ideal for a full practice but understandable with it being tucked in a neighborhood.

Played there a couple of weeks ago, and had 2 great rounds. Course was in good condition and the staff were great. Not a flashy country club course, but had all the amenities a golfer would need (cold beer). Also, the course doesn't look like much, but the hazards are tricky. Not as easy as it looks. Would definitely play there again

This course does not accept Kids! They do not want them on the course or allow them to ride with a Parent in golf cart. Go to Chi Chi Rodriguez Much more kid, friendly facility.

Update. 8/14/25. Played today and I am amazed at the the turnaround I experienced. The greens are way better. Tee boxes have major improvements. Great course in Pinellas compared to price/quality! Just average, tee boxes and greens are horrible. Layout is nice. Please fix the whale hump tees

Lost my sunglasses for all of 10 minutes at about 930 am, went and looked for them before even leaving the hole and maint had run them over with a law mower. When I was told sorry about your luck from the club house I mentioned "well if you didn't have someone mowing the hole as your pushing players thru it, my brand new $200 glasses wouldn't be in pieces" the response was "best i can do is have him not mow by you." Worst service ever!

Experience totally ruined by surveillance tech. Big brother is watching you golf! Messages on golf cart screen display warnings in real time. I hit a fence on someone's property line. Screen told me to "respect out of bounds property". I left a divot. Screen told me to "repair the divot". I'm not interested in being tracked, policed, or spied on while playing golf. Sickening! Never going back there again. Boycott this abuse of technology.
