In summary

Cove Cay Country Club offers a challenging course with scenic views of Tampa Bay and friendly staff, making it appealing for both casual and serious golfers. The course layout is unique and provides a mix of risk and reward opportunities, though some areas like bunkers and greens could benefit from maintenance. Common criticisms include slow pace of play, inconsistent course conditions, and limited on-course amenities.

Extremely challenging.. No cash, card only No hot dogs or soda at the turn around? This would be a perfect course for a roving Snack cart with beer,, sandwiches etc

Enjoyed this course. Very getable, great views of Tampa Bay and course was in good condition. Had Ping G430’s for rental clubs. Tee’d off at 7:37, was done in under 4 hours.

Short course, but definitely the most difficult course in Pinellas county. Bardmoor comes in second. You better be a single digit handicap if you plan on playing here. Lots of trees and ponds will cost you strokes unless you hit a laser straight tee shot. Also, every green is a raised bowl shaped green guarded with two or three bunkers each. Tee boxes were terrible dirt patches peppered with weeds. Fairways are hard pan with very few patches of good grass to hit from. Bunkers are cheap dirt and not sand. Greens are Bermuda and are lightning fast. They were in meh, shape, but very difficult. If…

Not a bad course not great either, wife and I were down from Canada for spring training we both wanted to play on the water. There is not much on the water as I thought. Overall not a bad course but it is nothing special. I haven’t played others in the area so I have nothing to compare to. Greens are small with yes lots of water and sand. Didn’t bother me but drove my wife nuts

Place is a goat ranch. Greens are more mud than grass, fairways not much better. Holes are so close together incoming balls are coming at you nearly every hole. Nearly was hit by a range ball on both 1 and 10. Pace of play was terrible and Marshall did nothing about it. Started at 11:30 and finished at 5:00. Course has a little character but just not well maintained.

Played this course on a Saturday in mid-February. Course conditions were solid — the front 9 fairways and greens were a bit dry, but the back was in great shape. It's a tight little course, but plays pretty easy. We teed off at about 12:10 (8 minutes early as the starter said they were moving along quickly)... our round ended at 5:28. We waited on almost every tee box for two groups to play in front of us, and it wasn't their fault — they were also waiting for golfers ahead of them to finish. Positives: - Staff was friendly - Back 9 views on the bay are really nice - Greens were quick and pre…

Visited Florida on a family vacation and I always try to play golf once. This course is in terrible shape. It was like they took pavement and painted it green. The staff was not friendly and they didn’t even have food for golfers before 11 am. I do not recommend this place, you can find better.

Course is terribly mismanaged. They do not care about pace of play, not a ranger in sight all day. Had a 6 hour round on Sunday. Got to the first tee and there were 5 groups ahead waiting on the box, so obviously started late. Front took 3 hours and figured it would clear but nothing. Awful experience all around. Every par 3 there were 4-8 carts lined up. Stop packing tee times and letting people fill in.

At the turn of the round my girlfriend and I were flagged down by a marshall saying she needed to wear a collared shirt to the course. Mind you, at no point on the website or at the property did we see any signage saying that was mandatory, and majority of the females on the premises weren’t wearing collared shirts either. We felt singled out by the management, and I’m frustrated that despite us being polite, quiet, and non disruptive to the course or the game, we were reprimanded for something others weren’t punished for. It was our first time at the course, and if the selective enforcement w…

Fred and Ray are Excellent Chefs at Cove Cay Golf Restaurant and Grill. They create the most delicious lunch specials and menu items. BLT Wrap was delicious and our Grandson was happy to try the sweet potato fries. We chose to eat outside at the water where Lily was a very attentive Greeter and Server. We love them all as we enjoy their welcoming attitudes.

Very nice golf course along side Tampa Bay. Some challenging holes and great scenery. Club House has bar and restaurant. Food at restaurant could be better but there are some decent choices and the staff is very nice.

Course was in good shape. Some greens were a bit bumpy and inconsistent. Pace of play decent for a 10am tee time on a Saturday. Unique layout that I found challenging, water is in play for many holes. Nice water views on the back nine Staff was excellent. Everyone from the guy in the clubhouse, starter lady, beverage cart lady, April the bartender and Dan the waiter were genuinely nice and friendly. Really enhanced the experience Food was good at the restaurant. Great place to hang out after the round with excellent views of the bay The greens fees were reasonable I felt like I got my mone…
