In summary

Clearwater Country Club is generally praised for its well-maintained course, friendly staff, and reasonable pricing, offering a good value for golfers in the area. The course layout is appreciated for its strategic challenges, though some find it compact and occasionally confusing. However, there are recurring criticisms regarding inconsistent communication about course conditions and temporary closures, as well as issues with slow pace of play and unexpected pricing discrepancies.

Played this course on Christmas Eve. Pro shop staff Eric and the rest of the employees still working were extremely accommodating, welcoming and sincere on the day before a Holiday despite me arriving a couple minutes before the pro shop closed (unknowingly) without a tee time. Played in roughly 4 hours and the course is in fantastic shape compared to when I played a couple years ago. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Clearwater or in the Pinellas County area.

The greens are really nice. The sandtraps also very nice and well groomed. The fairways in very good condition. The tee boxes and a few spots kinda rough.

Played again, and it was a great experience—wonderful course! I was pleasantly surprised by Clearwater Country Club! Compared to other public golf courses in Tampa Bay, this one truly stands out as the best. The course is well-maintained, the staff is friendly, and the grass is in excellent condition. I also appreciated that the houses were set back from the greens, giving a more open feel. Even on a Sunday, it wasn’t overbooked, which made for a relaxed game. Plus, the price is very reasonable. While it’s a bit flat, the overall experience more than makes up for it. If you're looking for a g…

Excellent course, tremendous value. Great shape. It’s squeezed into a residential neighborhood but nicely routed course, some interesting holes. 18 is fun close to the round aim at the stump put away the driver.

🏌️‍♂️ Course Review: Clearwater Country Club 🌟 Hey everyone, just wrapped up a round at the renowned Clearwater Country Club, a course that boasts a member list including the likes of John Daly! Here’s my take: 🔹 Layout Quirks: The course’s layout is one of a kind, with some holes so closely packed that large metal fences separate tees and greens for safety. This feature was definitely appreciated, especially when an errant approach shot from the group behind me nearly turned my round into a close call! 🔹 Condition: The course condition was top-notch. The greens rolled true and were well-mai…

Any golf course good enough for Thee JOHN DALY is far too classy for us!!! We had a great day of golf here, #1 FUN, and we only played the front nine... twice. We are looking forward to our next visit. All the staff was excellent and bar staff offered prompt service and extra ice at the turn. Greens were true and skies stayed blue even as lightning threatened nearby.

Five plus hour round. So many fivesomes on the course. Had a l3ague in front of us that had groups of six and even a group of seven. Did nothing but wait all day long. The course layout is set up so there is constantly someone hitting in your fairway from another hole. Greens were in nice shape. Will definitely never play here again. Not sure they know how to run a golf course

Updated 2026. Course conditions are decent, a little burnt, but greens are fantastic. My main beef is that online pricing can be wildly different than if you call. Recently the online rate was $47 (wasn't marked as a hot deal or anything special), but phone rate was $85. When I called for tee time they didn't mention it. Pace of play is around 4.5hrs - 5hrs and no rangers to keep things moving along.

Course is in great shape considering all the rain over the past few weeks! Greens were in great shape a bit firm but played true. Staff were all nice. Unfortunately the back 9 is closed and they fail to mention that on their site or even when you check in, didn’t bother me but I know others might mind.

Taking lessons there from a fabulous instructor -- Mike Riso. If you want to improve your game with simple adjustments, Mike's the guy to do it. Book ahead, he's very busy.

I normally like this track. Is it worth $75? Not even close, even when it’s fully operational. Showed up today for a Saturday morning tee time and wasn’t told anything about the shape of the course as I tapped my card. Front 9 was normal, no worries. Back 9? One par 4’s tee box was in the middle of the fairway. (150yds) Two other holes had temporary “greens”, which was just a flag stuck in the middle of the fairway. Never told anything from pro shop/starter and paid the most I have in a decade of playing here.
