In summary

Emerald Mountain Golf Club is appreciated for its interesting and challenging course layout, friendly and helpful staff, and well-maintained greens. Many visitors note the ongoing improvements under new management, which have enhanced the overall playing experience. However, some areas, such as tee boxes and bunkers, still require attention, and there are mixed opinions about the pricing relative to the current course conditions. Despite these issues, the course shows potential for further development and is considered a valuable option in the region.

I spend the summers in Michigan and the winters in Wetumpka. As many of you may know Michigan is a golf mecca so I’m spoiled with hundreds of great golf options up north. Emerald Mountain is a work in progress and may be a great public golf course in future years. Right now the front nine is rough. Tee boxes, fairways and bunkers can be barely playable. Back nine is better with large nice greens. The problem are the rates. Weekday this is a $35.00 for 18 / $25.00 for 9 (twilight 9 should be $18.00) Weekend kick it up $8.00 bucks…. If you have a trail card at RTJ go there. For a few bucks mo…

Interesting course design. Greens roll well. Friendly staff. My favorite course in the river region. Plenty of gators.

I played this course for the first time today and wasn't expecting too much after the many bad reviews. But I was very pleasantly surprised. You can see that the new owner and his pro put a lot of money and heart and soul into the course. Greens were great, fairways very playable, bunkers still need work. However, the course is very challenging and varied. Not everything is perfect yet, but I am confident that this course will be one of the best in the region in 1-2 years. Keep up the good work!

I live ten minutes from RTJ Capitol Hill and usually play there, but this morning the tee times were stacked up so I decided to try Emerald Hills. Glad I did. The team over there has done a heck of a job bringing the course back. Fairways and greens were in great shape. Fun layout, great value, a hidden gem.

First time trying EMGC. Will in the Pro Shop was very nice and welcoming. The course has some obvious issues (most bunkers are pretty much waste areas) but the course itself is in nice shape with a challenging Front Nine. A couple tee boxes are rough, but the fairways and greens are VERY nice. After a poor experience at Lagoon Park, I'll be returning to Emerald Mountain soon.

Great layout. Greens had just been aerated so putting was bumpy and slow. Better hit it straight!! Reasonable greens and cart fee. Very friendly hosts will greet you at the door 😉 🙂

Nearly $60 for 18 holes. Their prices have skyrocketed. The tee boxes are a disaster. Pay $10 more and go to Prattville, Robert Trent Jones. This is a $30 course tops. Today was my last until things change.

Very disappointed. I was expecting much better based on the assumption there were significant improvements taking place. The greens were good but they’ve always been pretty good. Fairways were good as well except for #8. That fairway was terrible, might have been an abnormal issue idk. Tee boxes were not good and multiple holes there were basically no tee boxes. Out of 18 holes, there were probably 6 or 7 holes where I was hitting off dirt and needed a drill to get a tee in. Bunkers are better than years past but still nothing to write home about. Cart path is good overall but it’s the same ar…

Didn’t make it past hole one! They told us it was cart path only and we got stuck in the cart path! I called the golf shop, he told us he was on his way 20 minutes ago and still hasn’t showed up! I will not be back to this place!

I love this golf course. For starters, the staff are very helpful and friendly and are happy to answer any questions you have. As for the golf course it's an interesting course that offers many challenges while still being beginner friendly enough to enjoy if you are new to the game. The course is huge and offers the front nine being played on the hills and valleys while the back nine is in more of a delta environment. The course gives a sense of privacy with how the holes are set up which makes it great for family outings, games with friends, or even just a solo round (or two). The putting gre…

I am from the area but have not lived here since 2017/2018. I was back home for a bit and went to go play 18 and I was pleasantly surprised with how much the course has improved. Conditions are great and it’s a fun and challenging course that requires accuracy off of the tee and on approach. Gabby in the pro shop was super friendly and has some great ideas on how they are going to continue to improve this place. He has been a pro at many successful courses and is super knowledgeable. The driving range is also in excellent shape. If you’re in the area or even if you have lived here for while, g…

Wrapped up our Alabama golf trip with this course. Not many places can sneak in a group of 6 on 30-40min notice. It was priced accordingly as they know it’s a process to get the conditions to where they need but they have the right approach. Get the greens right first - check! All the greens were consistent and in great condition. A very challenging course with two completely different 9’s. Would be an excellent choice as a warm up course for a golf trip too. Proshop guy and head super were Some of the nicest ppl we spoke with on our trip. Looking forward to seeing the progression here over…
