What People Say

In summary

Lagoon Park Golf Course is frequently praised for its well-maintained greens, challenging layout, and friendly staff, making it a popular choice for both local and visiting golfers. The course offers a variety of amenities, including a well-equipped practice facility and a pro shop. However, some visitors have experienced slow pace of play and noted that certain areas, like the bunkers, could benefit from maintenance improvements.

After driving 1hr and a half to Cottonwood and being denied to play because was a single player after making a tee time in advance we ended up at Lagoon park. WAY better experience and better customer service. Walked right in and walked right into the course as a single. Front 9 was great, greens and fairways in wonderful shape. Got a little backed up on the back 9 but was still enjoyable. Will be back.

It’s very nice golf course. On Sunday just few people, so no waiting, no rush. Employees were friendly and polite. Price is fair. Just one thing-too hard greens with sand, but it wasn’t tragedy. We liked it😊🐿

I love walking the dog in the wooded area. Today was a great day. Second visit this week. Angel (dog) and I really like the open areas.

When it comes to municipal golf courses, Lagoon Park and Gateway Golf Courses in Montgomery, Alabama are way ahead of the curve. Because of budgetary constraints and the fact that golf course maintenance is usually way down the totem pole when it comes to priority within a civic budget, most municipal golf facilities are very disappointing. Course conditions are at best strained, buildings are usually shoddy and in disrepair and the overall ambience can be somewhat depressing. This is absolutely not the case with the Lagoon Park and Gateway Park Golf Courses in Montgomery, Alabama. The Tifdwa…

Friendly and helpful staff, the good was prepared fresh and was good, the practice area was fairly nice, the course was in great shape and I enjoyed the challenges of the layout. However, the 6 groups of 4 that I was stuck behind were all made up of 70+ year old men that would not hear of a single playing through. It took 3 full hours to make it to the turn and I wasn’t patient enough to make it through the back nine. Were it not for that, I feel like it would have been a very enjoyable round. Hopefully management will get a handle on the extremely slow pace of play for everyone else’s sake. I…

Nice course, but bunkers need to have sand added. Many bunkers are like hitting from clay hard pan.

The staff was very friendly. The rental equipment is well kept and the greens are nice. The food and drink service on the green was an added plus for convenience. We enjoyed this course very much and definitely recommend visiting it.

Great driving range! I haven't had a chance to play the course yet, but I will say from what I've seen it's in great shape. If you're looking for lessons then Tim Spurlock is the guy. He is professional and knowledgeable!

Very nice staff. The course has a very challenging layout as it is incredibly narrow on every hole with trees that overhang onto the fairway, making your second shoot a “punch shot” almost every time. The bunkers are super easy to get out of. You can putt put of them as there is almost no slope to the bunkers at all. The greens ran fast and needed some love imo.

we really needed a map with us, I thought that the trail looped around back to the start, we couldn't find our way back. Beautiful there so excited to get to be in the woods. A nice Fireman loaded us and 3 dogs on the back of his truck to our cars, wouldn't have made it without him.

This is an update of my previous 2 star review. They have brought back great customer service. The man working the front, Tim, is excellent. The food at the clubhouse was delicious and the course was well kept. Will be going back soon.
