What People Say

In summary

Gateway Golf Course is frequently praised for its well-maintained 9-hole layout, friendly staff, and excellent practice facilities, making it a great value for players. The course is noted for its accessibility and ease of play, with many appreciating the condition of the greens and fairways. However, some visitors mention issues with slow pace of play, particularly during weekends and tournaments, as well as occasional maintenance concerns like trash and debris near the interstate.

Friendly staff and nice course 9 hole course with a driving range. It is next to the interstate and there was a lot of trash and debris, especially in the water hazards. I booked online and it was seamless. I would definitely return.

I was passing through Montgomery and wanted to play on a Sunday morning. My time was limited so this looked like a good choice...and it was!!! This is a municipal course so don't expect August national. However the nine holes are maintained very well and the greens were fantastic, and I don't mean fantastic for a muni, I mean they were fantastic. I Played nine in an hour 20 minutes hit a bucket of balls and went on my way. They staff was friendly and helpful. I'll definitely come back. Thanks for a great morning.

The website says it's free for juniors and every other time I've come here with my son, he hasn't been charged. The man working today insisted on charging my sons who are 11 and 15. He was going to charge me over $50 for us to walk 18. I don't think I'll be coming back here ever again.

Course looks great from waiting line at the first tee. Staff seems friendly. Pro shop prices are even reasonable. But I'm giving one star as there are currently 20 golfers on the first hole. I'll be lucky if I get to tee off any sooner than an hour after my tee time. The course sold tee times, and Then informed players that there was a tournament going on. A properly run course would have blocked off the time for the tournament. This is a 9 hole municipal course on a Saturday....slow play and crowds are expected but this is absolutely unacceptable! A situation that could be easily resolved wit…

We really enjoyed this 9 hole course. The practice area is nice, all of the tee boxes, fairways and greens were in great shape. The pace of play was just okay but that was to be expected with players making the turn and playing it twice. I think it's a great place to practice your game and knock the dust off before heading out for a more expensive round. We'll be back I'm sure.

Only 9 holes. Fun course, nothing real challenging. Good price. Hard to play 18 on the weekends, pace slows down greatly around 930a-10a.

We hosted a cookout for our mental health clients and it was a total success. The facility was awesome, professional staff and the view of the lake was sensational. This was after a day of hard rain, imagine a sunny day

Was in Montgomery for a weekend and wanted to get in a good early morning walk and later play 9 holes, this park could be one beautiful park if they would clean it up!! Water the golf course at night cut trim and edge it up plant some beautiful flowers, put the sand back under the swings and off the side walk, clean up around the lake, and make the walking trail 2 miles around couldn't give 5 stars and the three is stretching it, give the same amount of money and attention to the parks on the westside as you do too Shakespeare, and the Country Club.

The. No Golf Cart Policy @ 5pm and the Sunset is after 7pm doesn't make sense .. It takes 1.5 hours to 2 hrs to play 9 holes. Re-evaluate this policy. Your lost dollars today from me and my partner.

Excellent fairways. The greens are slow, but in good condition. Friendly and polite staff. Practice areas, including driving range, are immaculate. Great value.
