When you think of golf, there are often unfavorable stereotypes that come to mind: Expensive, unfriendly staff, and strict rules. Essex Country Club exhibit NONE of those attributes – in fact it’s quite the opposite. Instead of stressing that I've upset the pro shop with my tardiness, my only concern is landing funny jokes with Natalia as I check in. Breaking the bank? Absolutely not – this place is extremely affordable - $3.88/hole on weekends and holidays, and $3.16/hole after 3pm. I’ve yet to find a better bang for your buck golfing deal in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, or Vermont. I've no…

Im shocked this course doesn’t have better reviews! I love it so much I bought a sweatshirt. The course itself is beautiful and has been in great condition every time I’ve been and the employees are always friendly. One time someone gave me a sparkly pink ball. The carts are well-loved but they work fine. This course is very much my vibe. It’s not stuffy and I have a good time every time.

It truly is disappointing that ECC charges so much compared to courses like West Bolton, Williston, The Links, etc. Cost are comparable but ECC course is not. I understand they have tried to improve but the greens are rough at all times and if it rains then its unbelievably wet for days. I can understand if cost was much cheaper in the grand scheme of things but if you're gonna pay you might as well go somewhere nice for roughly the same cost. I gave it a 2 star review solely due to if you want to play and cant get in anywhere else last minute then ECC is usually wide open for tee times.

We played today in spite of the bad reviews and had a great time! The fairways are fine, the greens have a few bad spots but not terrible. The bunkers are awful so just take a drop outside the bunker. Don't let the bad reviews discourage you. It's a great course.

This course is awesome! Great hole designs and the fairways and greens are kept in great condition. Don't be fooled by the low reviews this is a golf course for people who want to get out on the course with a couple beers and play not for the members of high society in clubhouse who play twice a year you get at the "nicer" courses.

Nice course, not to expensive, does have some challenging holes, especially when the wind is blowing, the only complaint I have is that the course seems to be wet year around and on some holes you will not get any roll, and you may not even find your ball in the fairway because it plugged. But I would definitely recommend the course because it is fun and has an interesting layout.

Greens were absolutely terrible. Can't believe they charge what they do. You can go play almost anywhere else cheaper. $5 more to play kwiniaska. Will not be going back.

The course had a great view and the people working were very generous and kind! The issue was the condition of the course, many of the “sand traps” had no sand, cart paths were very confusing and some of the tee boxes were in poor condition.

If they told me that I could go back and play for free I wouldn't go back to this course. They charge $52 to play with a cart at 4:30 PM on a weekday for a course that looks like it was abandoned. If you do decide to go to the course and rent a cart make sure to bring extra straps to keep your clubs on the cart (which was a member recommendation as I was looking for my driver that snapped). The strapping on many of the carts isn't working properly probably because they have been around since the 1980's and caused the bags to fall off and ended up snapping my driver. Many of the bunkers are in…

Course has nice contures, blind fairways and nice Green's. It needs a lot of drain tile because it's wet causing for very hard fairways. The back 4 holes 15-18 are great holes. 14 needs drainage in the fairway than lengthened. I'll be back.👍🇺🇸⛳
