A player friendly course, not too difficult for beginners/higher handicap players but enough of a challenge for better players. Green fees are comparable with other local courses. The course condition was good for a course that experiences low, water collection areas. Pro Shop staff were very friendly, bar staff very friendly and starter/Marshall efficient and not intrusive at all. I recommend this course.

Course was in pretty decent shape despite it being winter. I do like how range balls are included in the green fees for non members. Pace of play was good and the greens were in good shape for the most part. Couple illegal pin placements and fast greens made it challenging. The cafe is closed on Mondays so not having a hot dog at the turn was a bummer

Fairway grass is always tight and greens are always fast and smooth. Awesome course with challenging layout. Carts have GPS with course layout and distances. You can order food from your cart on the turn and they have a cart girl who will serve anything from water to shots of fireball. This course is in my top 5.

Was on tour with my band and a couple of guys from our crew stopped in and played a round of golf before our show. The course is in fantastic shape for this time of year! The course also offers fantastic views! We had a blast! If we ever come back through Knoxville on tour again, we will definitely be back.

Avalon is one of the nicest courses in the area for sure. Though the course isn’t in stellar condition by any means, not for the expensive green fee at least. Scheduled tee times have also been a big congested mess some days. Nonetheless, a very fun course with great staff and members! If priced more appropriately I could see 5-Stars.

Really enjoyed this course! First timer. Normally I don’t leave reviews at places, but after the terrible recent reviews I read about this course, I wanted to be sure to share my thoughts. The tee boxes, fairways and greens are in good shape. The cart path could use some TLC - pretty rough. The carts are top notch. Clubhouse is nice along with the amenities available. Staff is friendly and helpful. My boyfriend and I have visited many golf courses and I think if we were to decide on getting a membership somewhere it would most likely be here. Well worth the money IMO!

Attended an event with the Wine Society of East Tennessee that was held at T-Prime Steakhouse at Avalon Country Club. The food was outstanding. The chef is creative and the service was first rate. The dining room is quiet and elegant and there is even an outdoor patio that overlooks the golf course. If you a looking for a romantic evening out, this would be perfect. I highly recommend!

I would love to give course a bad review since I played so terribly last time I played here, but it was not the courses fault. That was all on me. Course is in great shape. I am just not good at golf.

11/10/2022 Hidden Jewel, discovered by accident. Can’t believe its available to the public. As nice a course as you will find, every hole presents it’s own challenges surrounded by beautiful views and terrain. The staff was great. I hate that this course is 2 hours from home but, I most certainly will plan another trip very soon. A trip to Avalon needs to be on your bucket list!

I’ve played at Avalon several times over the past year. The course has usually been in decent shape—not great, but acceptable for the $50–$55 price tag. However, I played there today (6/20/25) and was shocked to be charged $85. That price is completely unreasonable given the current condition of the course. Some of the greens are in poor shape, and most of the tee boxes are in terrible condition. It doesn’t seem like much is being done to maintain or improve the course. On top of that, most of the golf carts have brake locks that don’t even work, which is both frustrating and a safety concern…
