In summary

Fair Hills Resort is highly praised for its beautiful setting, accommodating staff, and suitability for weddings and family gatherings, with many appreciating the range of activities available, including a well-maintained golf course. Guests enjoy the rustic charm and the opportunity for on-site accommodations, which enhances the communal experience. However, some visitors express concerns about the rustic nature of the cabins, the quality of breakfast offerings, and occasional service issues, particularly during off-peak times.

We could not have asked for a better venue for our wedding! From start to finish, the entire experience was as seamless as a wedding can be. They provided us with so much helpful information well in advance, which made planning so much easier and far less stressful. A huge highlight was the amazing day-of coordinator, Liz, who worked with us for months leading up to the big day. Her attention to detail and calm, helpful presence made all the difference. We truly felt supported throughout the entire process. The resort staff throughout the day were all so positive, helpful, and professional. T…

This was our first time at the resort. I had lived in the Moorhead area and my parents had a lake cottage on Pickerel for years. I am now in Alexandria, VA and wanted my husband to experience the lake. The only positives where the 9 holes golf course on the property, it was in excellent shape, and the proximity of our cabin to the lake, about 50 yards. The cabins are VERY rustic so don’t expect a TV or coffee maker. We were told that a “ Hot Buffet Breakfast” was included in our stay. Not the case. We were offer stale bread products, juice, yogurt, fruit and frozen breakfast burritos or breakf…

Beautiful place for weddings, reunions and family get togethers. We were there for a wedding and it was breathtaking. Reminded us of the Dirty Dancing lodge and resort. The staff was so nice. The rooms however do not have keys so do not bring any valuables or lock them in your vehicle.

My family has been coming to Fair Hills for decades, and it has long been one of our only shared traditions. I returned this year after a few years away, hoping to reconnect with something special from my childhood. Sadly, the experience was frustrating and disappointing. When we arrived, our cabin was dirty. Used towels were on the floor, trash from previous guests was left outside the door, and there were no clean towels or soap. We did not receive basic supplies until more than a day later. The cabin also had a carpenter ant infestation, these ants were crawling all over my bed biting me.…

I've been coming with my wife's side of the family for a few years. they always seem to have something new each year. You'd think this would make the cabin resort get farther from its start, but it's still a nice quiet getaway. I look forward to each year with the family doing our own fairhills traditions

My family has been coming here for 30+ years for our family reunion. It's really great for families with different activities for different age groups every day. The staff is always friendly and there are so many things to do from swimming in the pool, sailing or kayaking on the lake, a beautiful 9-hole golf course, disc golf, and even pool tables in the lobby. The cabins are cozy and they get updated fairly regularly while still maintaining that rustic feel. It's a beautiful little resort, and the prices are pretty fair for what you get.

Stayed here 2 nights for a wedding in September. The resort is very historic, it has been there almost 100 years and it definitely shows in some places. The weather was beautiful, but very windy so we were not really able to use the lake much. The sailboats looked really fun! We did not receive a key for our cabin, I'm not sure the doors even locked?! The cabins were ok though, I would call them rustic, but my bed was comfortable and everything worked in the bathroom. Loved the deck along the lake right outside the cabin patio door, great spot to sit in the morning. Not a golfer, but I heard f…

As a wedding photographer, Fair Hills is just awesome! A beautiful resort nestled among the trees, Fair Hills provides such a gorgeous and unique venue for weddings. Liz and the team are excellent to work with and pay attention to detail. I heard from so many guests how much fun the whole experience was! Thank you, Fair Hills, for hosting such an amazing day!

We had a wonderful family vacation here and will be back next year! Love the fact that all meals are provided (or you can opt for less meals if you prefer). There were plenty of activities for kids and adults, staff were all very kind, helpful and professional. The giant slip and slide was so much fun! Some areas for possible improvement: - Only 1 of the 3 paddle boats were functioning- hoping they buy at least 1 new one before we return. Adding a floating mat or inflatable lake trampoline would be amazing. - The pool was ice cold. A hose was running into it for at least one full day so I thin…

Liz and the Fair Hills Team made our wedding this year in June 2023 absolutely incredible. Liz was very in tune to my vision for the day and gave great suggestions based on that. The food is provided by the resort and it was delicious! Our guests loved that they could stay on the property as this was a destination wedding for our families. The fair hills team are all so friendly and make you feel like family. I wish we had known about this resort sooner, as I'm sure there are more vacations to come after our memorable wedding weekend. I would highly recommend them if you're looking for a fun,…

My beautiful daughter was married there June 17. It was an amazing day. The staff was absolutely top notch. Liz, the wedding coordinator, was absolutely wonderful. The food was so so good. I could not have asked for anything more. Stunning place.
