Fauquier Springs Country Club

Fauquier Springs is a nice private club located in a rural setting in Northern Virginia. The course itself is relatively short but features severely undulating greens, narrow fairways, and a number of holes with elevation changes making club selection vital to recording a good score. The course was in decent shape with the exception of a few bunkers that were unplayable and the rough wasn’t cut to a playable length but I could tell that the grounds crew is working hard to address these issues. Played over the weekend. Staff was super friendly and seemed like they were happy to see us. We used Golf Now for the tee time and it was easy. Course was in great shape and is a challenging place to play. Greens are tough but in fantastic shape. Fairways and tee boxes were also great.

Outstanding!! Terrific course, gorgeous bentgrass from tees to greens. Maintained daily by a great crew!! As an amateur golfer, I don't expect much from the courses I visit, but this experience was absurd. As soon as my friend and I walked in, we were met with the most snobbish lecture I have endured for awhile. Every private course has different expectations and rules, and my friend and I understand that. As soon as we walked in, the front desk guy pointed at my pants and asked what kind they were and said I technically am not allowed. Look, I don't know if this is called for, but me and my buddy were just looking to try out their golf course and have a good time. The guy who was behind the counter at the golfing reception host was very pretentious and pretty damn rude to us. Treated us like trashy hillbillies. Made me subscribe to the notion that country clubs are for folks who get off on being condescending. We were willing to follow any rules or customs, and we understood that private courses all have different expectations, but we were welcomed with the most absurd coldness and snobbery I have ever seen. This is the 2nd time we were met with an extremely rude staff member. We got there approx an hour before tee time and I made them aware one of the golfers are not going to make it. (We booked for 3). As soon as I let the gentleman know this he quickly informed me that we will be charged and we did not provide enough notice. I told him I understood. He then continued to lecture me that GolfNow users are horrible. I stayed silent paid the dues got a sleeve of balls and headed to the range. We were married here 14 years ago, and we called them to see if we could celebrate Valentines there this year, they were very helpful, and extremely attentive and amazing the whole dinner. The food was delicious and beautiful!

The course needs a lot of maintenance. The greens were in terrible shape. It's not worth the price of admission. On top of that, I went into the pro shop looking for a wedge that had been missed placed. I was giving an immediate attitude by the older taller gentleman who appeared to be in charge for no apparent reason what so ever. He has no business handling customer service. Save yourself the money and go elsewhere!

Don’t go here if you’re a GolfNow “member for a day” player. The dude at the pro shop hates GolfNow folks. Read the other reviews on here and on the GolfNow app. Not sure why they allow the “member for a day” if they don’t like outsiders. Weird. As far as the course goes…it’s ok, not terrible, but you can tell the place is on the decline.

For being a country club this place was so poorly taken care of. There are so many public courses around that blow this out of the water. We played here on Sunday morning and it was awful. From tee boxes to greens it was a crapshoot. Weeds throughout the fairways, bunkers that used to have sand in them now grown over grass for the most part, bumpy greens, not one level tee box and divots everywhere (even on par 5s, playing from tips).
