Such a great course! Challenging yet open fairways! Had to play the front 9 twice while they are improving the back 9 but still fun! Friendly staff!

Nice course. Staff not so much. Grounds keeper playing behind us wanted to rush us while we’re at a solid play pace. Less than 2 hours on 9 holes when the course is 2 1/2 hours pace and still coming up to us telling us we’re playing slow. While on a tee box waiting for the group in front of us who are still on the fairway less than 225 yards out and Mr. grounds keeper shouldn’t be waiting on us according to him. Plan for a speed run and to be badgered. Will not be going back.

We have played this course many times. Always a challenge and fun course. We recently played and had a big group that we were scrambling with. When other groups would come up on us we were courteous and let them play through everyone we crossed on the course was really nice about it. We reached hole 8 and the lady ( who was rude from the time we payed for our round) in the pro shop came out on a golf cart and told us that we had been out there for 3 hours and that we had a limit of 2 1/2 hours to play so we didn’t even get out full 9 holes in ( even though we paid $25 per person) and still did…

Terrible service the lady that was there behind the counter was very rude. Doesn’t know the rules about how golf should be played. The course was packed and very slow. She came down on the first hole while we were hitting and said we are playing slow. Which people were still ahead of us. People were also cutting infront of us, making us not able to hit. Wasn’t able to play the first hole at all. Never coming back to this golf course. Rather drive 15 minutes away when the people at that club house are way nicer. Also, I didn’t not get to play the full 9 holes I paid for, due to it was very pack…

Nice course, terrible staff. Don’t recommend unless you wanna speed run a game of golf. Also to the grounds keeper, your swing is horrendous for someone who complained about rate of play on a busy day by the second hole.

Church group staying at Trout Lodge discovered this gem. We’ve driven from St. Louis county numerous times to play it. I find it can be slower since it’s not an easy course! Take the earliest tee time if that’s important

Very terrible service from the mean lady at the counter, only just teed off on the first hole to be stoped by her and said that we where to slow and needed to have more sets of clubs even tho we played best ball. We decided to stop playing and allow our husbands to continue and then asked for a refund I only to get denied and threatened to have the cops called on us. This is very unprofessional and this is not the first incident with this place

Simply a beautiful location for a golf course, and in great shape. I wish it had still been 18 holes - wonder why it was reduced. Regarding the other reviewer's comment about the bugs, yeah, there were some horseflies and other smaller biting flies around, but it wasn't a huge bother. Played on August 5 and the greens were as good as I'd putted on in a long time.

Horrible people here, their members cussed at us, and were completely and utterly disrespectful as well as the lady at the counter which also has a gambling problem which is why she’s always in a terrible mood and always is rude towards me and my friends that come here. Rushed because we were going too slow by the members at the FIRST TEE. then they cut in front of us and we waited 15-20 mintues each hole to hit. Terrible people all around.

I live near St. Louis. Got a 5$ deal from golf now, and drive here with my girlfriend (neither of us are very good, she had never truly played). It was a beautiful drive there, and it was a decent, casual course. The greens did have a couple bare spots, but those were on the edges. Only a 9 hole course. On about two holes (including teeing off from the first hole) there were a lot of little bugs flying around (im assuming from standing water) but dont worry, they arnt all over. If you go out there, make a day of it, and go to a local restaurant. We went to the Bearfoot Cafe and it was amazing.…

The lady was rude when she found out that my grandson was driving the golf cart. Didn't realize you had to be 16. She called my grandson a retart. Then she was disrespectful to my son. They lost our business she could have been nicer. I know my grandson got upset when she got onto him. But an adult calling a child a restart is unacceptable. If I could give a zero amount of stars I would.
