In summary

Fox Ridge Golf Club receives mixed feedback, with some visitors praising its inviting atmosphere, friendly staff, and enjoyable dining experiences, especially highlighting the quality of the food. However, many reviews express dissatisfaction with the course's current condition, particularly the greens, and concerns about management and cleanliness, particularly in the restrooms. The venue is appreciated for events, but some guests have noted issues with service consistency and communication.

1 star because the course is playable, but its best days are behind it. Terrible ownership has caused a drastic decline that it will not recover from until another owner takes over. The leisure experience is at its worst when the owner is intoxicated at the club house. This happens too often and the belligerence that comes with it has cost a loss of loyal clientele and good employees. A change of ownership cannot happen soon enough. Until then, I recommend going to Waterloo, Waverly, or Cedar Falls courses.

This used to be such a great course. As other reviewers have noted, the greens are simply awful (the "plinko" reference is spot on). The current owner needs to sell ASAP. I've heard there are at least two potential purchasers who would maintain the course much better.

We went there to eat and the food was nothing short of amazing and reasonably priced. Nice atmosphere and great service. More people need to discover this fine eatery. Didn't play golf but the course looked inviting and well-maintained.

First issue: It’s mid June and you will be putting through dead spots and fertilizer pebble on nearly every green. Same price as all the other great courses in area. Second is the mens bathroom had no way to dry washed hands accept your own shirt. There were several soaking wet cloth towels lying on a filthy counter. The exit door had long run of filth from handle on down. And They serve food here? Understandable that things go wrong with agronomy and greens but cleanliness and function of a restroom IS controllable. If the owner, manager or members can’t get staff to check and clean they sh…

Daniel Hess must have went to a different course. The greens did need some love but it is a beautiful course. Staff are friendly and helpful. Great prices and a great course. We drove over an hour to play here and weren’t disappointed. We will be playing this course again!

The greens make what was once a really nice course, unplayable. There is as not a single green that did not have a large portion missing. Every putt was like playing plinko it bounced around so much. We were ignored by the bar/wait staff and the bathrooms were dirty and disgusting. The guys manning the check were great.

I am passing through town and I asked some locals where I should go for breakfast before I continue on my journey. They suggested that I stop in for an omelette, apparently “Michelle makes the world’s best! So here’s my review. This omelette was a true masterpiece - the eggs were perfectly fluffy and cooked to a soft set, allowing the vibrant mix of sauteed mushrooms and peppers and sausage to shine through with each bite. The cheese was melted just right, adding a creamy richness without overpowering the other flavors. A well-balanced and beautifully presented dish, the perfect omelette! It…

Don't waste your time or money. What used to be one of the best and most fun courses in the area is straight up trashed now. Easily the worst maintained course I've ever played. It's May and the greens are BROWN. Fairways are rock hard, clubhouse is falling apart... whoever the ownership is now, clearly doesn't care. Go somewhere else.

Use to be one of the best golf courses in the area. Now it looks like a shell of its former self that is not worth playing at the current time. Very unfortunate and hope some work can be put in to restore the course to its former glory

We listened to live music on the patio and ended up ordering dinner and drinks. We tried the homemade onion rings for an app, the fish basket and a side salad because you need some fresh greens with all this fried food. The delicious side salad and the fish arrived but the onions rings arrived at the end bc we had to remind them. Overall a good experience. The menu offers very little for vegetarians/vegans; the salad and a few appetizers.

Good was ok. Service was disconnected. The waitress sat in the other room on her laptop. Yes she came in and checked on us, but I didn't feel like a wanted customer.

Do not waste any money going to this course. Have kept it in rotation regularly the past couple years, but I’m never coming back. 35 dollars for an 9 on this clown show is insane. Avoid my mistake at all costs. Do not throw away your time and hard earned money on this bs. What a shame.
