In summary

Garland Resort is highly praised for its well-maintained golf courses, diverse layouts, and the friendly, accommodating staff who enhance the overall experience. Many visitors appreciate the excellent food and comfortable accommodations, making it a popular choice for group outings. However, some guests have reported issues with communication regarding additional costs and occasional maintenance needs in the facilities.

Our group is not experienced at golf and asked for the easiest courses. They signed us up for Swampfire which apparently is the hardest according to staff we talked to. Plus, it was flooded and in poor condition. All communication setting up our group of 8, I was never told breakfast was extra. Our group confirmation and details about the resort/amenities said there is a breakfast buffet. It didn’t say anything about paying extra and didn’t have a price so it was assumed it was included. The person we booked through at the resort never mentioned it. Ended paying almost $200 for a garbage brea…

Tiffany and crew on the service side treat us so well. Golf course is pure, can be difficult, but that’s a you thing. We come here with 32-40 man group on annual and they take good care of us. As good as we’ve had anywhere. The accommodations are adequate for our needs. The food is awesome and I want to compliment the entire staff for all of their efforts!! We will be back!

Booked Garland for a guys golf trip this past weekend, and the staff there were incredible. This place is a true golf resort! The security guard at night Roach was really nice to us! He even started singing the Canadian national anthem when we told him we were from Canada. The courses were also in great shape and will definitely challenge any golfer at any level. We will definitely have to come back again!

We had a great experience during our recent 3-day golf trip at Garland. The cost per player was very reasonable. From start to finish, everything was outstanding. The courses were in excellent shape and so much fun to play. The 2 person Villas worked out great for our group. What really stood out was the friendliness and hospitality of the staff. Everyone we interacted with went out of their way to make us feel at home. We had a fantastic time and are making arrangements to return next year with a larger group.

Just finished a great golf outing weekend at Garland golf resort. The courses are top notch and the service was even better. Shane who works with the resort made sure we played the right courses and continually checked in with us to make sure all accommodations were met. The support staff was amazing and our group will certainly be back. If anyone is looking for their next great golf trip, Garland offers the best on site lodging, staff hospitality, and enjoyable golf courses for any group outing . Can’t wait to be back Ryan - Go Cardinals !

Had an unbelievable experience from the moment we turned in the main entrance. Greeted every time by a warm and welcoming staff at the bag drop, they make this process seamless, to the pro shop staff that was there to answer our many questions. What I was most impressed by were the starters at each hole, every day, morning and night for all seven days, were so fun and great to talk to! The rangers on the course kept asking, “ how is your experience?” And “Are you enjoying yourselves?” Food was excellent, couple of my favorites were the five cheese Mac n cheese, short rib nachos and the French…

We had an absolute blast at Garland playing all the courses including the Sawyer (par 3) Shane went above and beyond to make sure we would have a great experience and he definitely achieved that! Shane and his staff took great care of us and we will definitely be back! All the courses were in great shape and offered unique challenges to each course. The greens were pristine! If you're planning on booking a trip with some friends to Garland I would definitely recommend playing the Sawyer at least once! Between rounds, before or after dinner, anytime you can! It is right there by the clubhouse…

If you're searching for the ultimate golf getaway, look no further than this hidden gem in Northern Michigan—a resort that redefines luxury, leisure, and links. With four (and a half) pristine golf courses carved into the natural beauty of Michigan’s rolling terrain, this destination is a dream come true for golf enthusiasts of every level. Each of the four 18 hole courses offer a distinct personality, from dramatic elevation changes and forest-lined fairways to sweeping pond and lake views and strategic bunkering. The greens are immaculate, the layouts are challenging yet fair, and the attent…

Had a group of 16 there for a golf weekend. Courses were in great shape and fun to play. The restaurant has good food but a limited menu. Staff is very friendly. Rooms were large with comfortable beds. Bathroom could use some maintenance with leaking wall shower heads and caulking that is less than professional looking.

I would have given this place a 5 star. Unfortunately we played the fountain and discovered there were no bathrooms available for women throughout the entire course. And we were upcharged $25 to play there. The hotel staff was excellent but the golfing staff were could not compensate my group $25 for non existent bathrooms on August 11, 2025.

We had an excellent experience for our buddies' golf trip. I'd like to begin with sincerest praise for the booking coordination and correspondence. The Garland staff was responsive to my questions, and our pre-visit information was excellent and exceeded our expectations. We stayed in single villas. The lodging was comfortable and well-appointed. There was some grumbling regarding the somewhat long walk from the cart barn and lodge as compared to the double villas. I recommend double villas if you don't enjoy a light walk pre- and post-round. Our dining experiences were great! We finished o…
