In summary

Forest Dunes Golf Club is highly praised for its exceptional course conditions, unique layouts, and the variety offered by its three courses, particularly The Loop. Visitors appreciate the friendly and helpful staff, well-maintained practice facilities, and comfortable accommodations, although some find the lodging dated. While many enjoy the overall experience, some criticisms include slow pace of play, inconsistent food quality, and limited on-course amenities like water stations.

Located in Philly but travel to Ann Arbor for work often so my 2A buddies told me we had to check this place out. Wow ! This is now going to be a yearly trip. The Loop was the coolest course I’ve played in a long time. So fun. FD was also a fantastic course….so many great holes and just a mashup of different styles of golf in one course.

Forest Dunes is a golf destination that absolutely lives up to the hype. From the moment we arrived, every staff member we encountered was incredibly helpful, friendly, and clearly passionate about the experience they help create. The courses — Bootlegger, The Dunes, and The Loop — were immaculate. Each offered a unique but equally stunning layout, with a great balance of fun and challenge. The Bootlegger in particular was such a great vibe — playing the par 3 barefoot with music on outdoor speakers throughout and drinks in hand was golf joy. The clubhouse blends golf heritage with a modern…

In fabulous shape. Not overly difficult, but good challenging greens. Great range, putting course, dinning indoor and outdoor. All around great pure golf experience

5 stars because the 3 courses absolutely justify the rating. However, the rest of the experience is 3-4 stars. Read below for more info: Staff: 4.5 stars. Had wonderful interactions with all but 2 employees. Had 1 lukewarm experience and 1 downright unpleasant experience. But overall, everyone is very kind and helpful. The starters and cart staff are wonderful. Check-in staff is great. Waitress staff is hit or miss. Food: 3.5 stars. Breakfast is overpriced and not good. The pizza was fantastic!! 5 stars for the Loop pizza. Desserts were not great. Lodging: 3 stars. The bed was comfortable…

Great place to golf and spend a few nights. We stayed onsite for two nights in a two bedroom (with kitchen and living room) unit. We played the main course (dunes) along with the loop (both Red and black). We preferred the dunes course, but the loops is interesting, especially the second time you play it (in the other direction). The practice area is included with the price of the round and it's amazing. They also have a cool 12 hole (I think) par three course that is right next to the outdoor bar. Lot's of fun to play after our round (they have music playing outside - speakers everywhere). Th…

I wanted this to be as incredible as the reviews that I had read prior to playing. It wasn’t. I only played the Black. I am a single digit handicap and am able to look past a lot, but today was a disappointment. First off, the course, aside from the greens, was one of the most basic, uninteresting courses I’ve ever seen. There are no hazards to speak of and nearly every hole had a 100yd wide window to hit the fairway. The bunkers are nicely maintained but are oddly dispersed. For the life of me, how in the hell is this a top 50 course? If you are looking for a resort style basic course, this i…

Forest Dunes is absolutely amazing. I had watched enough videos about FD and read up a lot also, so I knew what to expect. But it still exceeded my expectations. The Goodbye Hole, Bootleggers, and the Loops, such a great place! It is a top 100 for a reason!

I'm going to start off by saying that this place is an excellent destination for golfers. The courses are so unique and in great shape and a real joy to play. Where the resort started to suffer was moving people in and out. When it's 8am, 80⁰ and there are lots of golfers showing up for their morning tee times... it's frustrating to see one woman behind the bar doing everything while four girls just stand at the end of it looking at the crowd waiting to fill their canteens before the round. The course would benefit from a simple self-serve water and ice stand to reduce the wait and help with b…

This place is a gem. The Loop is one of the most unique courses I've ever played. Play it both ways as a few holes we're nearly unrecognizable coming in from the opposite direction. Forest Dunes is incredible as well, amazing that these two polar opposites exist in the same property. My only knock on the courses was no drinking water for resort guests, only members. The resort was great, food was great. Service was somewhat slow and no other food options close by. Definitely hope to return to see the new 18 when it's completed.

The golf and lodging accommodations were top notch and the course staff were extremely friendly and helpful. As far as the dinning, bar, and general resort staff the experience was extremely disappointing. Very uninterested, not very attentive, and almost unfriendly during our stay. They will get every dime they can out of you. Food was average at best and over priced as were all drinks of any kind. Would not return for these reasons alone. The golf courses were great though they spread sand out the morning of our round at Dunes with no warning, understand general maintenance but communication…

My favorite course in the state! The staff is on their game making your golf an exceptional experience. The facility is beyond 5 star. A must destination if you are looking for a top notch golf trip. After golf you have to try their pizza. It’s fantastic too!

Love The Loop!! I've always loved playing links style golf courses and this place is phenomenal. Had to hit low bouncing shots short of the greens. Fairways are firm and roll out. A definite must play if you enjoy link style courses.
