What People Say

In summary

Fox Run Country Club, now known as Patriot Golf Course, is frequently praised for its well-maintained course, beautiful layout, and friendly staff. Golfers appreciate the reasonable rates, challenging yet fair course design, and the presence of amenities like a driving range. However, some visitors have noted occasional issues with pace of play and slow greens, which can impact the overall experience.

Great early season conditions! Was really satisfied playing here to get the winter rust off the golf swing. The course provided fair and challenging shots, while the early season greens quality was awesome. I'll definitely return for prime season just to experience the greens. Friendly staff, clean club house, carts were great. Always appreciate playing a course that shows effort in course management. Thank you for the experience.

This course is awesome, especially for the price. Everyone we interacted with on their staff was super friendly. Beautiful course and it's in great shape. On top of that, the pace of play was perfect. We had a foursome @ 10:30 on a Saturday...never had to wait for the group ahead of us and never had the group behind us waiting while we teed off. Definitely will be back next time I'm in Northern Michigan!

This is one of the best courses I have played. I travel for work and like to check out new courses on my travels. The course was very well maintained, the staff was great and the rates were very reasonable. They also have a driving range for warming up. I highly recommend The Patriot Golf Course.

The staff were very welcoming, and the facility looks freshly renovated. Well maintained course at a great price. Greens play well and are challenging. Most tee shots are forgiving with wide fairways and shorter rough. Has fun elevation changes, especially on AK's Corner. Veteran discount as well. The new owners have done a great job. Will be back soon.

Beautiful course! I wish they would have advertised that they had just aerated and sanded the greens, before I made my tee time and drive 35 minutes, only reason for a 3 star rating from myself. Lesson learned, always call the course and ask about those things, especially in the spring and fall. I will definitely play it again in a couple of weeks, so I can actually putt 😊.

Pulled into Grayling Country Club because I was staying 2 blocks away, saw 8 people on the first hole so I drove 5 minutes down the road to Patriot (formerly Fox Run) best desicion I could have made. Everyone in the clubhouse was very friendly and the course was well maintained, didn't wait to hit a single shot. This place definitely should have been busier, great course.

Beautiful course! However… myself, my dad and two brothers had a time set for 7:40am and were first ones there. We got to the back 9 and there was 3 groups in front of us, including a 5 some that hit 2 balls each. Really killed the vibe and had to stop playing by hole 15 because we had an event to get to. We waited 10 minutes per hole after we got to the back 9 just to tee off. We had a set tee time for a reason, just kind of frustrating.

Very fun and technical course! For a very good price too. Got out there with my buddies on a up north golf trip and it was a blast! Owner was there and was very welcoming and hooked us up with some walk up tee times. Would definitely recommend playing here!

The course is in great shape, the greens are wonderful, it is tight in some places so you might want to bring some extra balls. We saw two herd of deer and some turkeys on the course.

Just finished a Father's Day round that was fantastic. Fairways and Greens were in great condition. Bar staff was super nice... might have had 3 of the frozen drinks and Bloody Mary... all were super good. The new owners have done a terrific job on the grounds and the course. Could not be more impresssed. My wife and I will be back!

I wish we could do half points also. You can send me to a course to play and it might not be in great condition but don't mess with the greens. This course was bad in that respect. The course itself was in great shape. Including the greens. But the greens were terribly slow. I golfed a lot of courses this year and these were the slowest. Not even a close second for slow on anything else I've been on. Felt like I was putting through velcro.

Played the course with my mom and little brother in April when they first opened for the season. The nicest course we have played since moving to Northern Michigan. Staff was friendly and the grounds and equipment are well maintained. Will will be playing here again.
