Loved this course! From the friendly staff to the beautifully kept course this is a gem! My husband & I are fair golfers who travel every winter to play. This course had enough challenge but allowed success as well. The grounds are gorgeous. The greens & fairways were the best we played in the area. You couldn’t ask for a friendlier bartender & the patio is a great spot to enjoy a drink after your round. Highly recommend!

Great course and staff. Greens had been top dressed so wasn't 'perfect'. We did feel we were waiting on every shot with a group in front of us that were not playing ready golf and no marshall rounding. Good overall experience and a top island course.

One of the more under-rated courses on the island. It’s an interesting layout and always in great shape when I’ve played it. Reasonably priced and they offer local rates if you present a local ID. I like how this course requires a number of different shot types, particularly flighted down iron shots as many approaches will be blocked by trees if you’re not in the correct spot off the tee. Wanted to give a shout out to Alan at the bag drop. He was busting his hump and his attention to detail and work ethic did not go unnoticed, from taking our clubs out of the truck to making sure every last…

We loved the entire experience from the practice facilities to the allagators in the ponds. This course is a beauty. I took my 10 year old son here and got a great deal to play 9. He was finding the fairways the entire time. This course plays long and wide. You would hardly know there were homes lining it's fairways. The carts were nicely maintained as were the holes. Best of all there was availability with a easy booking the day before. I would definitely play here again.

Simi Private club with very good service. Were they cell short is their greens were rock hard. Except for the 18th green. They also had the cart markers 100plis yards from some greens, so of course no one was fixing their diviots and from. 100 yards in the condition of the fairways showed it. Inconsistent sand traps. Some were fluffy and soft. Mostly towards the clubhouse. The holes further away from the clubhose had some sand traps that were rock hard. Great course design and fun layout. Needs better maintenance to be comsidered a good course in Hilton Head.

Came here in December. It was very slow; there was no one in front of us for all 18 holes. The staff was friendly and the price very affordable. The greens were slow but the fairway and tee boxes were in good shape. The cart path was rough - very bumpy. The trees, ponds, and sand pits, however, were picturesque. We enjoyed the experience and were happy with what we got for the price.

So I have to write this review and unfortunately I would highly recommend this course be avoided for now atleast. Now to caveat up front before I go full Karen, I NEVER write reviews but I think this one is warranted. Additionally my main reason for a low review is something easily fixable. I cannot give just one star (though I wish I could) because the staff were a 10/10. Additionally the course itself when factoring in the price is a 9/10. It is very well maintained. My reason that I would never come back here is the pace of play. I’m a 6-10 handicap golfer and my wife is fairly new but we h…

Played this course on our 3rd day in Hilton Head and it was my favorite of the week! Nice layout and fairly open off the tee. Course was in excellent shape and the staff was very courteous. We did not have to deal with any overbearing starters or rangers that think they own the course! Harder and harder to find these days. Greens were good in terms of speed and condition. This is a course that I would definitely play again! Great atmosphere.

Really fun and beautiful course with reasonable penalty areas and well tended grounds.

First time in Hilton Head and played 6 courses, but was most excited to play a Golden Bear Course, but was let down almost on arrival. The player assistant (bag boy) wasn't rude, but definitely wasn't welcoming, just said "hey" put my bag on a cart and drove off without telling me anything. Not where to check in, not where he was going, nothing.. Then, the course condition and facilities were barely above mediocre, my local courses I play for $40 a round are in just as good of condition (no exaggeration). I tried giving a break cus it's May, but the other 5 Hilton Head courses I played were in…

I'm surprised at some of the negative golf experiences on here. We played 72 holes on a golf trip and the conditions were best at this course. It was early spring so there was still some yellow rough but that is to be expected this time of year. I would definitely play here again.

Played the afternoon of 4/21 and it was a terrible experience. We were rushed to the 1st tee, only to finish the hole and find FIVE groups stacked on #2. The cart states a 4:20 pace of play “strictly enforced,” but that clearly isn’t the case. After nearly 3 hours to play the front 9, I called the pro shop from the 6th tee and was told the ranger had already left for the day. When we made the turn to speak with staff, the shop was closed—everyone had gone home at 5pm, despite tee times running as late as 4:57. There was zero pace management and no accountability. We waited on nearly every shot…
