In summary

Grand Haven Golf Club, also known as American Dunes, is highly praised for its immaculate course conditions, challenging yet enjoyable layout, and exceptional staff service. The club's mission to honor veterans and support their families through scholarships adds a meaningful dimension to the golfing experience, with many visitors finding the tributes and memorials both touching and inspiring. While the course is celebrated for its design and amenities, some players note that the pace of play can be slower due to the numerous plaques and memorials to read throughout the round.

This is such a cool place! I absolutely love how they honor veterans and they have a scholarship program for the spouses and children of vets. It's a golf course but it's all very humbling to see. We had the smash burger and chips (with French onion dip) for lunch which was tasty. They played Taps when we got there around 1pm and everyone (including people golfing) stopped in honor of the vets.

American Dunes is more than just a golf course, it’s an experience. The course is beautifully designed, challenging yet enjoyable, and always kept in top condition. What makes it truly special is the mission and story behind it, honoring our veterans and tying the game of golf to something much bigger. The staff is welcoming, the facilities are first-class, and every round feels meaningful. A must-play for anyone who loves the game and appreciates the values it represents.

1st time playing here and loved it! American Dunes is a challenging track, especially when it's windy. The holes are all unique and I love how the course integrates honoring our fallen heros. This is truly an amazing course and an experience I will never forget. A gem! Must play!

This is not just a golf course this is an experience, from the moment you walk from the parking lot into the dining area outside you can see that this is not your normal golf course. This is a venue that honors veterans from start to finish. Whether you're dining at the bear table, riding in your car. Or pausing during your round to salute our flag / servicemen. You realize that your cost of the round goes to an incredible organization Folds of Honor. I highly recommend this golf course there are numerous tees the greens are immaculate with a 10.2 stimp, if you stay in the fairways avoid the p…

What an honor it was to play at this course dedicated to our fallen soldiers. We visited on 4th of July weekend, and everything was fantastic—from the pro shop to the wingman, the ranger, and all the staff. Jack Nicklaus did an incredible job designing this course as a tribute to our veterans. I’ll definitely be back for another great round with friends and family

I am here on vacation from Scotland and popped in here today after finding this golf course after doing some research of the local area. Primarily I was only here to visit the shop to purchase some branded goods to take back home. As someone who has been to many American memorials and cemeteries in Europe I was touched by the wall of honour outside the clubhouse. The course looks absolutely amazing and lush, I hope that I can return and play here at some point in the future. And whilst I bought a few small items from the shop I also made other purchases later from the excellent website later.

Probably not a lot more I can say that hasn't already been said. However, I'll just let folks know that we played it about two weeks ago and it's in fabulous condition. Greens, fairways, bunkers...all in top notch shape. You will not be disappointed.

Absolutely loved this course. Immaculate conditions. Greens rolled a little slower but considering the overall course challenges, I thought that helped make the course a little bit easier overall. High quality customer service. Loved the Memorial, very touching. So much to see and look at throughout the round. I would recommend the videos that play start after you tee off instead of when you approach your second shot. Hard to enjoy the videos and keep pace of play. I personally would rank this course up there with the best in state. I prefer over Forest Dunes. I found this more playable and im…

Great experience, reading the stories of the fallen heroes and the families is emotional, yet hopeful and uplifting. As far as the golf, it is a great challenge. Staff is helpful and friendly. If you haven't been, put it on your list.

If you are an avid golfer, this place needs to be added to your Bucket List. The whole experience from start to finish was amazing. Showing up early to take in the memorial and grab a pre round drink at the CAVU bar is highly advised. The course itself is immaculate and one of the finest in the state if not the country. What really puts this place over the top though is its mission of providing scholarships to the families of fallen and wounded veterans. Behind a great round of golf you are contributing to a worthy cause greater than yourself. This is one of a kind golf experience every golf…
