In summary

Grand Lake Golf Club is frequently praised for its challenging and well-maintained layout, offering a scenic and enjoyable golfing experience. The staff is noted for being friendly, and the course is considered a good value for the price. However, the lack of amenities such as a clubhouse, practice facilities, and on-course refreshments is a common critique, along with occasional slow pace of play and inconsistent conditions in certain areas like bunkers.

I really want to rate this place 1-star so it’s not filled with hacks but that would be unjust to the team. Exceptional layout. Greens were in prime condition, especially for February. Great mix of risk/reward holes. Like others have mentioned there is no range or putting green. No traditional clubhouse but they do have an ice machine. Friendly staff and beautiful course. Our group was very impressed and will be back.

The course is usually in ok shape. No club house and I think they recently added water coolers to a few holes. Carts are ragged rentals that they always promise they're replacing. Porter pottys are scattered around, but I suggest using the woods, they're a lot cleaner. BEWARE of the Lake Card Membership. It's only valid from January to December, not 1 year from purchase. So if you purchase the card on Dec. 1st it will expire January 1st and you only get 1 month instead of a year. I purchased their lake card membership in Feb. 2025 and golfed 3 or 4 times in the year before my b-day. With the…

Great hidden course. Been around a long time but haven't heard of it. Tried it out and great course that is well maintained. Only reason it got 4 stars is because there is no putting green or driving range. You just have to show up, go to first tee and get going. Not a busy course...yet, I believe it will get there especially with features listed above.

Nice course in good condition. They don't have a club house but apparently you are allowed to bring an ice chest (no water on course). You don't go back to parking lot. Little bit of standing water or muddy spots here and there. Sand traps are more mud traps. Pace of play was a little slow as it took 4 1/2hrs to play. Will be back as it was a nice course and only mi or details to get to 5 stars I'm my opinion.

Great layout, on its way to being a great course. But there are no practice facilities or beverage cart service. Good pace of play. The greens are inconsistent due to having different types of grasses. Once the zoysia grows in fully it will be better. Lots of upside if Troon Golf decides to do something with it. Update 11/4/25 In good shape, greens are nice but still inconsistent. Lots of watering going on and there are soft areas in fairways and around greens. Overall still fun to play with lots of contour.

I am not give this course 5 stars because it the best public course in Montgomery county, but for shb $50 round it is hard to beat. Pace of play is slower than what I am used to, but the delay was due to frost. I will return soon. No practice facility, food, or snack cart which is disappointing. Also you never reach the clubhouse again until you finish your round. Come prepared!

One of the best public courses I've ever experienced...designed by Gary Player it is challenging all the way around. $56 ~ 18 holes & cart! Unbeatable 😎

This course is a gem. It is beautiful and challenging and very well maintained. If this course had a proper clubhouse with a proper bar and grill, the greens fees would be $85 or more. But for now it is less $$$ because of golf only. I highly recommend it.

Really nice course for the price. Green and well groomed fairways as well as greens! Loved all the hills and water features too! Worth the drive. Just make sure to get a gate code from the office as this is a gated community!

Great and challenging layout. However there’s no restrooms, signage is obsolete and/or null. Price is fair. This golf course has potential for more.

Love the course and some of the best greens around! The wild hogs need to be removed from the area! They are getting worse.
