In summary

Grand National Golf Club is generally appreciated for its well-maintained course, beautiful layout, and courteous staff. Many visitors enjoy the challenging yet playable design, with some highlighting the quality of the greens and practice facilities. However, there are occasional concerns about the absence of a beverage cart, slow greens, and communication issues regarding league play and temporary course changes.

Overall is a nice course, conditions were good but very long rough and they were working on getting rid of the grass clumps after mowing. Service is good but didn't ever see a beverage cart. Luckily had some drinking water on the course. Ranger was very nice but not much out of the rest of the staff. Clubhouse doesn't have food. Course design is good. Their is a couple of pothole ponds that shouldn't be there. Walked the course, a little difficult but doable.

Making the trip from Minneapolis to Bayfield decided to play Grand National for the first time. I liked the course, walkable and the greens were in great shape. The rough was mowed so it was easy finding golf balls and great for speed of play. I will play here again.

Surprisingly playable and tee to green was in great shape. Do the stay and play package with the Grand Casino Hinckley for great golf, great gaming and fantastic food at the casino hotel

Came out for a 2:40 tee time, on pace for a 3 hour round for three of us. Never told us about league play at 5:00 on back 9. So on hole 14 asked us to go to club house and get a rain check for the back 9. When we went to them the person said “I told you there was league starting at 5:00” that never was said!. We had a 2:40 tee time why would they offer that with league? stoped at club house on the turn, still never said league was starting. Pour pour way to handle things in club house when such a beautiful course is around it. Very disappointed.👎

Beautiful day, but terrible care of the course. Lots of loose piles of grass trimmings, very tall rough, & golf carts still had trash in them from the last ppl. Otherwise, good company & GPS in carts was helpful at times, the carts shutting down occasionally was less than desired.

A few tight holes yet very playable fairways and great greens. Shot 74. Will for sure play again.

My family and I reserved a tee time for the early afternoon on May 5. The course was crowded because so many golfers were out enjoying the beautiful weather that day, which I recall being in the 70s with sun. We were paired with another couple that was playing 18 holes while we stopped after nine. The course was in good condition despite the volume of players. Play was slow because of the number of golfers. The most challenging aspect of our rounds was the insects: there were a lot of gnats. I had not experienced this at Grand National in the two times that I previously played it. The fairwa…

We had 8 groups play on a Monday & Tuesday. We didn't know there was no beverage cart out and they didn't offer coolers. Asked after first round they said doesn't pay for them...how about us? Also greens were spongy and sloooooooow. While it is a beautiful place, and nice people, the greens were not playable for me.

Course is in great shape, has driving and putting area for golfers to practice on before starting, and has two warm up holes available as well that are in fantastic shape. Both times I went this summer happened to get rained out, but still a nice course. Sections are a little dangerous for balls with woods on both sides, but for the most part, the course is fairly open.

I like this course. I've golfed here three times. The course is not as wide open as it looks from the afar. It's a very nice layout, challenging enough for a single digit hdcp but still very playable for the average weekend hacker. The price is reasonable for the course. Knocking down one star because they had a temp green and did not tell us when making the reservation or discount the price to account for it.

Played 18 on 6/30. Pace of play was excellent/ overall condition was very good/ greens a little slow but in excellent shape. Club house adequate and workers were friendly.
