In summary

Sandstone Area Country Club receives praise for its friendly staff, accommodating atmosphere, and enjoyable course layout, with some visitors highlighting the fun glow golf experience and well-maintained clubhouse facilities. However, several reviews express dissatisfaction with the course conditions, citing issues with dry greens and fairways, and note that the pricing may not reflect the quality of the course. Horrible experience with front desk/bar lady. After judging my daughters outfit I was given expired beer by 6 months. She was wearing athletic shorts and athletic top. Other golfers were wearing skirts and shoulders were showing but since my daughter has a fit body it was an issue.

The course was dried out in many places, and the greens had a significant amount of dead grass beside them and on them. If you want a place to artificially inflate the length of your shots you will definitely get the roll here. A lot of water and TLC will be needed to return the course to a prime playing condition. The current condition is not limited to the lack of rain experienced in Northern Minnesota this summer. Our group played at 2:00 pm on a Tuesday when there were maybe 7 other players on the course. The course has seen it's better days. Greens are absolutely no good. It's like at times hitting concrete. All the holes basically interlap so you really have to be careful when teeing off so you don't hit the ball on another hole. Greens are dried up. Prices are unreasonable for that poor of a course. Go to pine City grantsburg Hinckley mora moose lake before deciding to come here.

Golfed here Friday July 14th at 530 pm. HORRIBLE course. $28 for 9 holes with a cart. Couldn't even get your tee in the ground so dry!! Might as well of been in a cow pasture. TERRIBLE tee boxes, fairways and greens are half dead. No way should be that price for a course in that bad of shape. Course shouldn't even be open!! Would NEVER golf there again!!

Was very let down by this course, I’ve golfed the majority of courses around here, and for a course that is more expensive than Grantsburg and Pine City, it was in far worse conditions all summer relative to those two cheaper courses. I’d visit those instead if you’re looking for a cheap course to golf.
