In summary

Green Knoll Golf Course is generally appreciated for its well-maintained greens and fairways, challenging layout, and friendly staff, making it a favored choice within the Somerset County system. However, some visitors find the course's pricing steep, especially given the lack of amenities and the demanding nature of certain holes, which can be unforgiving for casual golfers. While the course conditions are mostly positive, issues like worn tee boxes and occasional construction disruptions have been noted.

I had a great experience using the Pitch & Putt late this afternoon. The short pitch and putt was great practice to fine tune the feel of my golf swing. All of the tees are mats, but the grass is in great shape so if you miss the green you'll get a true feel for your short game. Looking forward to playing the full length course as it seemed to be very well maintained.

Green Knoll is one of my favorites in the excellent Somerset county system. Excellent value, challenging but fair. The finishing hole is one of my favorites in the area.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3/5) Green Knoll is a mixed bag. There are moments when you can really enjoy yourself out here, but there are also plenty of times where you feel like the course is punishing you just for showing up. The positives: The views across the course are genuinely nice — lots of tree lines and open stretches that make for a pleasant walk or ride. The staff is generally friendly and helpful, and check-in is quick and painless. The fairways are in decent shape, and the greens are very well maintained. When you’re putting, the roll is smooth and true, which is a big plus compared to other count…

Great value in Somerset County. For the price, it’s great! Can’t beat it. In general - conditions are solid except for some patches on the fairways and beaten up tee boxes.

Nicest staff in Somerset County system Quail and Warren Brook close next Better score on holes 1 and 2 because #3 is a tough tough long par 3 then there are no lay ups.....number 8 will make you quit golf on some days ....so get to 10 and it's long but downhill 11 is doable and 12 is easiest par 3 on course . After that it's a roller coaster. Number 15 will make you walk off the course down days ....Green Knoll plays long on most days; you feel like you are hitting rescue or hybrid into most holes ....it is a very fair test ....

Turf is dense. Greens are nice and fairly quick. Holes are pretty long. It is well maintained. The course used to have many foxes just recently they have all disappeared. I am wondering if they relocated them or they exterminated them 😒. They were pretty, they are not aggressive and they were there first. 😪

For a public course the course is in a reasonable shape. Unfortunately, the start of the game is marred by Starter Mr. Jay's rude behavior. He doesn't seem to be happy doing the job. I traveled all the way from Bergen county. It will serve Mr.Jay well to drive to any of the Bergen county courses and watch the starters operate. They are a fun bunch, go out of the way to make sure everyone is enjoying. That's the whole point.

Played last week with my friend who is 61 while I'm a senior. As out of county residents on a Wednesday it cost me $40, while my partner had to shell out $50. And tack on $18 each for the gas cart; I feel $36 extra combined for riding is very pricey. Also there was no yardage tracker; I should have complained. The course was however in great shape even after the heat wave. Greens and fairways both in excellent condition. Green Knoll is a long and challenging track, no easy holes here. All of the workers were cordial and helpful. In total an enjoyable experience.
