In summary

Grey Silo Golf Course is often praised for its beautiful setting, well-maintained greens, and friendly staff, making it a favorite among both seasoned golfers and newcomers. The course layout is generally appreciated for its mix of challenging and forgiving holes, though some visitors find the long walks between certain holes inconvenient. While the venue is also popular for events like weddings and dinners, there are occasional criticisms regarding the driving range limitations, slow pace of play, and some negative experiences with event management.

My wife and I got married at Grey Silo in October 2025 and we would absolutely recommend Grey Silo to anyone looking for a wedding venue! The timber room is beautiful, the food is delicious, everything is reasonably priced and best of all you have the support of their Hospitality Manager Samantha Roszell. Honestly, having Samantha's help throughout the whole planning process and on the day of made everything so much easier and smoother and I can't overstate how fantastic she is! If you're considering Grey Silo, book it and you'll be happy you did - we certainly were! Here are some photos of h…

Perhaps this can be added to the website or communicated before you use the driving range, that you can only use your irons or hybrids but not woods or driver. It was disappointing as it was my first time there and I wanted to practice my with my driver. Unfortunately the range is short, and poorly marked. It was not worth the cost and charging for it was inappropriate. Perhaps it needs to be renamed to a warm-up area or iron-only range on the website.

Very nice course. I walked 18 holes. Fairly flat course but It’s tough to walk as there is a large gap between clubhouse and course. Also a large gap between 1st and 2nd holes as well as 17th and 18th. Green were in good shape. My 2 favourite holes were the par 5 fourth hole a dogleg left with water on the left. I really enjoyed the 7th hole, a short par 4 with water on both sides of the fairway. See my pics.

Went here for a retirement dinner recently. I can’t speak for the golf course, but the venue and the food were absolutely amazing. The staff were excellent at their jobs, and promptly served food, typically in a pretty spectacular manner. The food itself was amazing - I had a stuffed chicken that was genuinely amazing.

I recently had the pleasure of attending my dear godson’s wedding at Grey Silo. The setting itself was just lovely, and the meal was quite good overall. However, I must say that the manager of the venue was terribly rude and seemed rather disorganized, which truly put a damper on what could have been a perfect experience. Were it not for that, I would happily give five stars. As it stands, I would suggest considering other venues if you are seeking truly gracious and reliable service.

Top Notch, International Standard Golf Course right here in the north east corner of Waterloo. I was there as a visitor, player and volunteer (for Manulife LPGA classic) . Amazing facility.

Stunning course, and meticulously maintained. We played 9 holes starting at 5:30pm. Even with sunglasses, on a clear day the light conditions make play quite difficult, especially because many of the holes are facing the setting sun. My only suggestions would be: 1) rent a cart. There are some very long walks between holes! Especially from the Halfway house back to the parking lot. 2) on a few occasions it was difficult to know where the next hole was especially if you are new to the course. All in all, I can't wait to golf all 18 holes (and earlier in the day ;) Give it a shot, you won't be…

Overall its a very nice course. Quite open with lots of room for mistakes. But nice and long course. Course was in great shape. This was the first time playing this course so i was taken aback with the public jogging chatting and laughing on the paths as you play (not that i need peace and quiet), but just not used to it. Also sharing the cart path was a challenge today, some folks felt the golf cart needs to move for joggers. Marshall was fantastic and really on top of groups that were slow. one item that I would like to see changed is that walking pair should not be playing with cart pair..…

I had lunch at the Grill Room and the food was very good. The fries are some of the best and the Thai chicken wrap is excellent. Lots of outdoor space Not sure how the course plays but I use the Walter Bean trail here a lot and the golfers are friendly.

Enjoyable day out. I'm not a golfer but I thought the course was very nice. A number of times I saw deer wandering the course. I played in a customer tournament and was impressed at how the holes were layed out. Not once did I hear any one having to yell "fore" A bit difficult for a beginner golfer, as there were a lot of hazards. But over all I thought the course was in nice shape and it made for an enjoyable afternoon.

Great course with some difficult holes but generous fairways. Taking a cart is a good idea since there is a fair hike from the club house to first hole and between some holes.

Played Grey Silo yesterday (September 5th) and it is in great shape as always. Plenty of rain lately has kept the course green, fairways soft, and rough is lush. Greens are rolling true but aren’t so firm that approach shots are bounding off. Pace of play is best in the morning. Staff are outstanding and friendly. One of my favourite golf courses in the area every year.
