In summary

Rockway Golf Club is praised for its well-maintained course, interesting layout with strategic challenges, and friendly staff, making it a popular choice in the heart of Kitchener. The course's history and reasonable rates enhance its appeal, particularly for weekday play. However, some visitors express concerns about slow pace of play and occasional overbooking, which can affect the overall experience.

Great Stanley Thompson “muni”. Lots of elevation changes on this course that adds interest to playing. Large trees that were strategically placed in the fairways. There are 50 sand traps and they were in good shape. This place is well maintained and it took 4.5 hours to play 18 on a Friday afternoon. I absolutely loved the second hole with the drop down fairway and undulations off of the tee blocks. The history of Moe Norman and Gary Cowan here is very cool! See my pics and video of the course

I had an awesome time at rockway, it is a classic course in the city. I got to witness Kyle win the Irish! Will be back next year.

Rockway Golf Course was a bit underwhelming overall, but considering the price, it’s hard to complain too much. The course itself is just okay—not particularly memorable, but it gets the job done if you’re looking for an affordable round of golf. One downside is that the pro shop closes earlier than expected, even for this time of year, which can be inconvenient. On the plus side, they did have a decent selection of items on sale in the pro shop, which was a nice surprise. Beyond that, there’s not much else to write home about.

The course was dry in areas, but we have had a lot of hot windy days so that is to be expected. The layout is short, but there are a lot of strategic shot choices because of narrow fairways and protected greens. Any staff we talked to were great, especially the Marshall's who quickly helped with a golf cart breaking down. With the short layout, I can definitely see there being problems with pace of play. But we moved along pretty well on a busy day.

Beautiful course. Challenging, especially the uphill holes for beginners but playable. Requires a variety of shots. The amenities are outdated but the course is in fantastic condition.

Very nice course in the heart of Kitchener! Starters are always goated, especially Maria. Stopped for a beer after the round and the service was great. Super friendly staff and even checked on us on the patio. As soon as we return the carts the staff are always right there to get it cleaned out and charged up. Would recommend trying a round at this pristine we'll maintained exquisite course!

Golfed here a couple times and have never had a good experience. It’s severely overbooked, they’re unable to supply enough carts. Very slow play, if you’re not a member it’s pinned on you even with groups backed up infront. Disorganization at its finest. The course has a good design, condition was good.

Nice course for any playing level. Most of the course is well maintained but there was some dry grass near par 4. Friendly staff and reasonably priced.

Forgot my wallet in my golf cart after dropping it off after the round. Came back later to the drop off area and the two gentleman cleaning off the carts had found it and gave it back to me. Nice to know trustworthy people work there, and the course is fun too!

They allowed people to skip off of 17 and play from 13, and when we complained to the marshal, nothing was done. Same day, we encountered a group of 5 who played very slow, and made an excuse to the marshal that there was a slow group in front of them, which there was not. No due diligence from marshals on this course, so expect delays and people cutting from 16/17 back to 13. Course was in decent condition with the exception of a couple holes that had been recently vandalized, making the green on one hole in particular unplayable. Staff inside the clubhouse were friendly and attentive.

Going course is a great layout and in pretty good condition for a municipal course. I find the staff and volunteers a little on the rude side. Too bad the city is letting Golf North manage this course.

This is one of my favourite inner-city courses. Just the right length to walk 18 on beautifully manicured and lush fairways. Friendly and helpful pro-shop and Kitchener Golf staff! Very reasonable rates. Busy on weekends, so I prefer to golf weekdays.
