Hancock Golf Course

Solid piece of TX golf course history and a fun little track. Things get a little tougher around hole 6 though. Walked right up on a Saturday, paid at the first hole automated pay station, and stepped into it. If you're in town and want to play a quick 9 I highly recommend it. Grassy but cut fairways and greens a little bumpy but more than acceptable.

A historic old 9 hole muni in the middle of the city. Fun for beginners. Inexpensive and great way to get in a good walk and play some golf. Can be very slow due to number of beginners playing

I don’t golf, but I do use the trail at the Hancock golf center every morning when I go out for my daily walk. They have a nice soccer field you can use, the parking is located on 41st st. Nice views of the downtown from far away, and you can see the UT tower too. Update: Very beautiful golf course in Austin, Texas. They have a track by the side of the golf course, they also have some sidewalk that goes right through the golf course. A lot of trees, and hills. Love this course, great to walk on and play, meet awesome local people and have a great walk.. 9K steps for 9 holes! Absolutely Love it!

It's hard to go wrong for $18. I'm a bad golfer and played with my brother who is a good golfer. I hesitate posting a good review because I don't want popularity to spoil it.

I love to walk my boys around the golf course. Great for jogging too since it's hilly with stairs and some steep areas. 1.2 miles around.

The best shape this course has been in Decades! If it aint broke don't fix it! City of Austin keep your hands off this Golf Course.

Listen man, there's no golf carts and the green quality can be hit or miss, but it's right in the heart of Austin, there's no reservations, and it's dirt cheap. I love this place dearly.

At $14 for sunset it’s good value. But my god the greens are in bad shape— very overgrown, number of sandy and dirt filled areas under repair, and even weeds growing in the Bermuda grass. They feel very bad to putt on.

Solve the riddle, and you step onto the court. Fail, and, well… there’s always next week. Think you’ve got what it takes? Find the grove, face the challenge, and may your jump shot be as sharp as your wit.

Pace of play is a struggle. But if you're not in a rush, it's hard to beat the value of $16-18/day. Lots of fun. I hope the city of Austin never closes this place.
