In summary

Harwich Port Golf Club is appreciated by many for its relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, and suitability for beginners, offering a simple and accessible 9-hole course. However, some visitors have expressed concerns about the course's maintenance, citing issues with the greens, fairways, and tee boxes, as well as the perceived high cost of playing relative to the course conditions. While some find it a pleasant and affordable option, others feel the pricing does not reflect the quality of the experience.

Well to start off the staff is very nice, but unfortunately that is the only thing this course has going for it. I played here for the first time in 2 years and was shocked when the greens fee was $45 walking with a push cart. By far the most expensive 9 hole round I have played this year and boy it was not worth it. It seems as if they have given up taking care of the course. The grass on the greens was very long, almost fairway length. They were also EXTREMELY slow. The fairways were rough and the rough was ROUGH. There were also sprinklers going off all over the course and you would have to…

Went here in spite of the negative reviews and was pleasantly surprised. Definitely no frills but a super relaxed atmosphere. Fairways and greens in good shape. Tee boxes better than described in other reviews. Another patron told me in passing that they have really improved things over the course of the last few months. Quick round, great for beginners. Will definitely be back.

Too bad! Played here yesterday when it was a sweltering humid 90 degrees out. NO cooler of water on the course on the hottest day of the year!! $40.00 for 9 holes walking! Absurd. I have played here every year for nearly 70 years. It WAS worth it before they doubled the price to play. Sadly, I won't be back.

I am surprised at the negative reviews. My son and I really enjoyed our outing here. This is a great little track and exactly what it should be, a nice excursion and opportunity to swing a club in a beautiful setting. Simple and easy to navigate layout, with enough difficulty to challenge your short game. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back next time in Harwich 👍

Was a really nice calm walking course. Perfect for beginners but also enough to challenge the more experienced players. The staff there were also super kind and very helpful!

Management is terrible, horrible attitudes from staff. Greens are atrocious, not even greens, they are just dirt. Tee boxes are awful as well, only nice in front of the clubhouse. $45 for 9 holes at one of the worst courses in Massachusetts, do not come here unless you want to waste money and play a terrible course.

I wouldn’t even give this course 1 star. This is by far the worst golf course I’ve ever played. First of all the rate is $32 dollars per player which is crazy for the conditions of the course. There were 2 greens that were not playable and 2ft flags with white spray paint around them that are in the middle of the fairway. The fairway wasn’t a fairway it was just patchy dead grass. The greens were thick and horrid. Honestly this isn’t even a golf course just dead grass with holes. There’s no water or bunkers either. Regardless no one should play this course, NO ONE EVER! - jay rush on SoundClou…

Very nice and accessible course. Great course for beginners and those that don’t have 4.5 hours to spare. Tee boxes aren’t in the greatest shape but manageable. I posted this review specifically in response to a review a few days ago that said the greens were damaged by coyotes. I just played and I did not see anything like that on any of the greens.

This course doesn’t live up to “Cape” courses of scenery and great greens. The fairways are full of burnt grass and the greens are bad with holes in the greens like what?? Hole 7-8 if you’re lucky are dry if not is full of wet soggy grass so bring a second set of socks and shoes. For $40 spend the extra 10 and go to blue rock. They don’t have carts either.

I went here with my son today, and this course was probably one of the worst I have played ever. I came from California for the weekend with the family and decided to take my son and I wish I didn’t and went somewhere else. The “pro” shop is a really small counter with a few candy bars and a hat that is “not for sale”. We proceeded to the course and it was truly disappointing. The layout wasn’t my favorite and the course is pretty poorly maintained. I hope they are able to see this review and change how they operate as I will try to give it another chance next summer when I come then I’ll revi…

A bit pricey at 40.00 per person for 9 holes and walking no.cart for this course on a weekday midday. Cranberry Valley just up the rd. 45.00 person with a cart weekdays

I’ve been golfing for 25 years and this is the worst course I’ve ever played. They charge $40 to walk nine holes. Some of the greens are dug up from the massive coyote problems they have. The pull carts barely hold your clubs. You’re better off anywhere else.
