In summary

Heathlands Golf Course is widely praised for its beautiful setting, well-maintained layout, and friendly staff, offering a great value for both experienced and beginner golfers. Many appreciate the unique course design and the accommodating service, including convenient amenities like carts brought directly to players. However, there are some criticisms regarding inconsistent course maintenance and occasional unwelcoming staff interactions, though these seem to be less common experiences.

Amazing course in the forest! Staff was incredible and carts brought right out to the car. Course might close at the end of the season so get out and play this one while it's still open. You will enjoy it.

This course is amazing. Great for the experienced golfer or a beginner. Great views. Great shape. Good price for the quality of play! Love all the rolling hills and overall course layout! Go and enjoy this beautiful golf course!

Beautiful course with the most friendliest staff! They brought a cart right out to our car for us and came and got it when we were done. We were saddened to learn this course will be closing at the end of the season which is a shame. Do yourself a favor and play this course while you still can. We are doing a top 50 list of Michigan public golf courses and this was one of them! It definitely deserved to be on it!

A very nice course with many types of play in one layout. True greens and well maintained. Multiple tee options. Several holes where local knowledge or good gps would help you place shots. Two wooded dogleg holes could have been better designed or stretched out for more true shot shaping. All in all a great and varied experience. Very worth the price. Ill be back.

Played a round this weekend on a cold windy fall day and had a great time. The staff working the pro shop were fantastic. The course was in great condition this late in the year. The greens were fast even with the rain the day before and the morning of.

Great little track. The course is built on sand dunes. When N. Michigan is soaked, this place doesn't turn into mud. A bit of a hidden jewel. Moderate crowds, play moves along. Price is modest. The back side in particular is a treasure!

Wasn’t even greeted as I entered the pro shop. The older gentleman working just looked at me. He seemed like quite possibly the unhappiest man on earth. The course was in terrible condition, as if the entire maintenance staff didn’t care about their job. No bunkers were maintained around the edge. The greens were visibly different lengths which definitely effected putting. The fairway was the same length as the rough, so I was never sure if I was in the fairway or the rough. The course layout is unique, but the entire staff from the pro shop to maintenance did not seem like they cared about an…

This is one of the best kept secrets in north west Michigan. It is a beautiful well manicured northern Michigan course, It is challenging from the blacks and blue Tees and easy from the whites. The views are great! We found this a great warm up course for Arcadia Bluffs at 1/3 the cost. Gary Miserlian

The Heathland Golf Coarse is a beautiful, beautiful golf coarse, and it is fun to play. The coarse is kept is great shape. The staff is very friendly and the halfway house is a nice stop before, after or in between play. We loved it. Mike and Cathy Brown 6/01/2017

Considering that this course is just down the street from Arcadia Bluffs, this is a great, affordable and fun option! Rumors of the course closing after this season...please don't!

Fun course but can be tricky. Make sure you bring some extra balls if you can't control your shots too well.
