In summary

Champion Hill Golf Club is highly praised for its well-maintained course, beautiful views, and accommodating staff. The course layout is appreciated for its links style design, offering a balance of challenge and playability, with wide fairways and strategically placed bunkers. Visitors enjoy the scenic setting and value for money, though some mention the greens are slower than expected and note the absence of on-course beverage sales, encouraging guests to bring their own.

I was part of a 12 man group that played the course in July of 2025 and the staff was incredibly accommodating. We were doing a tournament style trip and needed to play an extra hole to settle first place and the staff was great about it. They let us play an extra playoff hole no charge no fuss, help us out with picking which hole to play. Pretty awesome staff here. The ladies in the clubhouse are very nice. Well maintained course, very nice links style design, challenging yet forgiving especially off the tee (wide) but it is a bear if you get into the rough. Would recommend, great value for t…

Great price and really quality conditions. The course design is fun, fits the land well without being quirky, and it’s not super penal. With large greens allowing for a variety of pin placements, I don’t think I would get tired of playing this course.

Champion Hill is the best course in Benzie County bar none! My wife and I came later in the evening on a Sumday and asked if we could play a quick 9 holes and the friendliest woman you'll ever meet told us no problem! So nice and really felt welcomed. And the course is spectacular and was in fantastic condition for late September. Highly recommend!

We played this course for the first time last week, and it was in great shape, loved the wide open fairways. Staff was super friendly. Hubby broke 100 for the first time and he's been golfing for less than 10 years! We will definitely return.

What a suprise. I had no idea this course was so nice. Pinecroft gets all the attention up here in Crystal Lake for public golf, but I was suprised how nice this was. Great condition and views. They women that opened the pro-shop early AM was very accommodating as well. I will skip Bahle Farms 10 out of 10 times to play here from now on.

The lady at the counter was nice at check in and at the turn. The course has some of the best views in the state so overall it is a fun track to play. I do want to be honest with the review so all levels of golfers know what they should expect. Overall the course is green everywhere it should be. The tee boxes, fairways and driving range grass are left very long for typical course standards. The greens roll extremely slow but again, they are in nice shape. If you shoot 80 and above and don’t mind the long grass on the fairways/tees and driving range, this course is awesome. If you go low and…

This is a beautiful course and has a great layout! I have only played the front nine and have really enjoyed it! If you turn around at the top of the 4th hole Tee Box you can see Lake Michigan. The rolling hills are great and the views are spectacular! Highly recommend!

Beautiful gem tucked away, with a great twilight price. Edit: Went back here again in 2024, and the course was in awesome shape. For the price you pay this course punches above it's class.

Had an absolute blast at CH and PC golf courses. Staff was friendly and accommodating. They let our 9 play as 3 "loosely joined" 3 somes. Course was fantastic and stood up quite well even in the constant rain. Views were amazing too! Great, great place for a scramble, but challenging enough for anyone trying to beat their boss!

Champion Hills is a fabulous Scottish Highlands style links course with rolling terrain and challenging holes. Beauty is all around you from hole to hole. My favorite is the 7th par 5 down hill dog leg - if you hit your drive on the right side of the fairway, you get a reward as the hill at about 230 slops down, and the ball will run another 50-60 yards. A must play course if in the Traverse City area!
