What People Say

In summary

Heritage Inn and Golf Club is praised for its well-maintained 9-hole course, offering a mix of challenging and fun layouts suitable for various skill levels, with standout greens and friendly, accommodating staff. The course provides a unique golfing experience with features like golf boards and a simulator for year-round play, and many appreciate the reasonable pricing and welcoming atmosphere. However, some visitors have expressed dissatisfaction with the refund policy and pricing structure, particularly regarding advance payments and perceived value.

Being from Florida, where the water hazards, bunkers, and alligators are the only things breaking up the flatness, it was extremely enjoyable navigating the elevation changes. I played 27 holes over 2 days on this very pleasant course. I would definitely recommend it if you are in the area. One more thing, don't follow Google maps if it has you turning down a 1 lane dirt road. You'll end up on the cart path!

Nice, reasonable prices, 9 hole course. A few more par 3s than standard course, but some longer holes, too. Went in the winter, so can't speak to course upkeep.

I’ve been talking some lessons from Sam Cresta since the summer. He has really worked on my grip, helping me adjust so that my ball goes straighter. What a difference it has made! Sam also has worked with me helping me figure out which club to use for the various distances. Since working with Sam my swing, distances and understanding the game has really improved. I am definitely more confident of a player too. I have continued with lessons this winter on the simulator at American Classic Golf Club. It has really been fun to play year-round in some capacity. Sam is very good at what he does, h…

Great place to get a lesson using their simulator! I scheduled an appointment with Sam for an hour and learned a ton about my swing in a short period of time. He gave me insight on multiple metrics of my swing and exercises to improve. Highly recommend booking a lesson

Was in area visiting my mom and wanted to play a few holes but not allocate 5 hours to 18. Have been to the area alot but never knew this course was even here. It was fabulous. Not the usual “executive” course with crappy greens and dirt tees. Conditions were great and really some of the best greens in the area and definitely the best bunkers I’ve played in DE. People are great, conditions are excellent and the holes are fun and interesting, some longer and some shorter but really fun to play. Will definitely do this one again. Thank you.

$76 for 18 holes on a glorified executive course. Charged for 9 holes twice instead of being able to pay the difference after 9 on a cold blustery day. Should be glad anyone was here. Won’t ever come back or promote this course to friends. Must do well enough in the summer.

I took 5 lessons with the golf pro(Sam) at this facility and I was thoroughly impressed. First, I think the price is unbeatable. 5 lessons for 250 dollars is a great deal from what I’ve seen from other lesson packages in the area. Second, the lessons themselves were incredibly useful. Sam asked me what I was looking for in terms of improving my golf game and gave me great pointers. He was incredibly patient with me struggling through some stuff and I think the way he teaches is very effective. He gives you tips. You hone in on them with practice reps outside of the lesson and you talk to him…

My favorite course in all of Sussex County, DE. Ever cruise down the fairway riding a skate board on steroids? Just strap you bag to one their golf boards. Just a flick of the thumb and you're flying! It's a 9 hole course with great food and vibes. Austin and Sam will take good care of you. Best golf value anywhere.

Great course. It's small but just challenging enough to keep the game exciting.

I have been playing golf at American Classic for many years. It is a great course, in good shape and managed professionally. The customer service is way over par and that is the reason for my review today. We arrived on time for our tee time only to discover that we left our golf clubs at home. Not to worry, Jim fixed us up with rental clubs, we purchased some balls and were able to play. I want everyone at American Classic to know how much we appreciate Jim and his focus on service excellence. We always feel great golfing at AC.
