In summary

Hickory Valley Golf Club offers a layout that some players find enjoyable and challenging, particularly the Presidential course, which is noted for its fun play and good condition. However, the Ambassador course has received significant criticism for poor maintenance, including water damage and unkempt fairways, leading to dissatisfaction with the value for money. Additionally, some visitors have reported issues with customer service and pro shop management, impacting the overall experience.

Nice course to walk or ride. Some challenging greens but a fun time. I gave 5 stars alone as being female and having a bathroom to use at a great area, it intersects at the 2nd, 4th and 11th tee box. This is a big deal for me

Had the misfortune of playing here 6/2. Granted we had gotten a fair amount of rain on Saturday but swamps in the fairways? Played the Ambassador course. Foxhollow closed due to course conditions Monday, maybe someone could learn a lesson. The course was a drainage disaster. The roughs looked as if they weren't trimmed in a bit and you better stay in the fairway or have plenty of balls handy. Stay away from $8.50 pre-packaged sandwiches too. It was devoid of any meat whatsoever. I rarely give negative skewed reviews because id rather not waste my time but sometimes you need to prepare the next…

We’ve played Hickory Valley for 30 years and honestly the current conditions are deplorable. Tee boxes, fairways, collars around the greens, general maintenance such as cutting weeds next to the cart paths and around hazards. It’s really in shockingly bad shape and in just a general state of neglect. Greens were fast but had many burned out and dead spots. We played Ambassador today. $65 is embarrassing for the conditions. We understand that the course has low lying areas but not on every hole of the course Sadly it appears that management has given up. There are much better options out there.

Played the presidential course, it was in fantastic shape. A fun 18 to play, course knowledge is a must as your tee shot on the course is more important than most. It's an easy course to walk. It's not a legendary course by any means but definitely one you can play everyday and never get bored due to the many different shots that you have the option to hit. Staff was very helpful and nice

It hurts to see how far this course has plummeted. I am a former member, and loved the presidential side years back. It plays tough, especially the back 9, but conditions were always great. It’s just not the case now. The tees are chewed up so badly it’s tough to find a stance. Fairways are a mixture of seemingly whatever seed was lying around in the garage, which is a far cry from what they used to be. Greens are …ok, ish. They had been cross cut, so I don’t want to judge too harshly as that’s likely not the norm, however, the fringe has now elevated itself due to lack of proper care. Don’t…

The presidents course was in nice shape. Very challenging and tight. Nice design with appropriately placed hazards. Many bunkers had standing water in them. $66 at 240PM this time of year is a little much especially with the pace of play. We weren’t able to get the full round in. There needs to be better managing of the golfers on the course by the marshal.

In general one of my favorites BUT the Ambassador course is in terrible condition. It has a tremendous amount of water damage. Now they obviously are doing their best to fix it, but it's going to take months before the grass and greens will recover. You really want to avoid it until next season. I can't comment on the Presidental course, I wasn't on it, but it usually is in much better condition than the Ambassador.

I stopped by for an introductory visit being that will be assigned to that location for future projects. However the weather didn't do this place any justice and I hope that when Spring and Summer roll around I can get a much prettier view of the course and its surroundings.

I have never played a worse course! The conditions were atrocious and they had the gall to charge me $55!!! Between the upkeep of the course, the water that was in the ball cleaners that must have not been changed for a year because it smelled like swamp water, and the guy that was mowing the course who was actually mowing dirt, I wouldn't have even paid $10 if I were to have known! You all should be ashamed of yourselves! If I could have given 0 stars I would have!

I love the course and usually have a great experience. This morning 9/20, we went in for a 7:50AM tee time that we booked and pre-paid online. When we went in, Tom at the front desk said he didn’t have any time for us. We showed him the confirmation and he put his hands up and said I don’t have it. It was at 7:30AM and that the people already went out, this was 7:35AM. He offered no help and no solution with this besides continuing to say “oh well, I don’t have anything.” We understand mix ups can happen but the unprofessionalism and lack of help from Tom wasn’t appropriate.

Played here in the past and conditions are aweful compared to years ago, thought I would give it a shot. Should be a municipal course at best. Charging these rates is a rip off. Never coming back
