What People Say

In summary

Highland Park Golf Course is appreciated for its scenic, tree-lined layout with challenging hills and fast greens, offering a good test for golfers of varying skill levels. The course is generally well-maintained and reasonably priced, with helpful staff enhancing the experience. However, some visitors have encountered issues with the condition of golf carts and the lack of rain checks, while others feel the course could be better maintained in certain areas.

I'm a bogie golfer on my good days. This was my first time playing Highland Park. The course is easy to get to, the green fees are very reasonable, the staff is helpful and professional. It's a good looking, scenic course. Two things to be aware of: (1) his is a hilly course - at times you cannot see the golfers on your fairway from the tee box and (b) these greens are FAST, stay below the hole! The five or six times I happened to hit the green from 100 to 160 yards out with a wedge the ball scooted 5 - 15 yards beyond the green. On several lies above the hole I tried to just start the ball ro…

My experiences have not been too horrible with the shop people but the course it’s just not for me, way too many trees and hills. Half the time the carts are not fully charged so they move very slow. Also, I think is a bit too expensive for what you get.

Nice course beat my son by 2 strokes love this place. Older course with mature trees. Lots of hills and can be challenging. Gives your full game both short and long a good workout. Reasonable green fees and can walk the course which makes for a nice round and becoming rare. Speed of play is average. Golfed here last Saturday and even on a weekend only had a couple holes where played slowed.

First time playing Highland Park today. Great course and very reasonably priced! Well maintained, lots of mature trees, small quick greens with some slope, so plenty to challenge experienced golfers. Holes six through nine (I only played the front nine) are a nice test and my favorites were the 228 yard par 3 at 7, and the driveable par 4 at number nine. Definitely will play HP again in the near future!

Decent course. Paid for a cart which barely made it through 9 holes. Swapped for a different cart but that one died after 16. Pushed it for a bit then walked back. Asked for a refund for the cart fee but front desk said no that’s what you get with old carts.

Great staff but the "yearly" pass is only for 8 months. The course is closed from November to March. Go to Ironwood and you can play year round for $50 more.

Really interesting economy course. If it was well kept up around bunkers, greens, & tee boxes it'd be a 5 star. Pricing is reasonable too since it's a public course. Great for intermediate level golfers

The course itself is ok, but the fat jack wagon that works inside is a total dump of a human. Very rude and smells like he can't afford soap. The course would be rated a 3.8 but it really gets taken down due to the bad employees.

Absolutely phenomenal course with high quality service by Josh. Luscious greens greens that appear to be well maintained. However, has a fair amount of trees. But aside from that, I would recommend this course to anyone. Would 100% go again.

If I could give 0 stars I would. This place is terrible. Expensive for how bad the course is and “UNDER NO CORCUMSTANCE” will they give a rain check. So $110 for two people to golf 18 holes and after 9 holes no rain check for bad weather or any other emergency. NOT WORTH GOING…

Pretty scenery and well kept. Lots of large trees, which are beautiful, but they interfered with many of my shots. On a positive note, they kept many of my balls from reaching the neighboring fairway. Didn't have to yell "Fore!" once. Website listed in google maps is for a wifi company. Someone should fix that.

I'm not a big golfer, mostly going to the courses in town to walk my dogs when inclement weather keeps golfers away. But, of the course in Bloomington I think this my favorite to be on. It is more forgiving than others for sure. The fairways are broad. But, there are many many natural challenges around the course. Streams run throughout, sharp hills are obstructing views at times. And while the total yardage isn't as long as others, the layout doesn't have you on top of each other.
