In summary

Hilaman Golf Course is generally praised for its well-maintained greens and scenic layout, making it a worthwhile municipal course within the city. The staff is often described as friendly and accommodating, contributing to an enjoyable experience. However, some visitors have noted issues with customer service, slow pace of play, and confusing cart restrictions, which can detract from the overall experience.

Course is in great shape, if you can find time to reserve a tee time a week in advance. City of Tallahassee customer service however, is not great. Don’t expect any type of intentionality with any requests. Expect voicemails and “call back tomorrow” with no follow up. Good luck trying to cancel your membership…..

I played Hlaman often many years ago, but my recent visits have been delightful, with all the improvements and changes, it is now well worth the trip. A peaceful gem inside the city. Played the other day with my son, and want to play more often. Spoke to the Pro (I think her name was Jan), and asked about a Beginner League. Hope they restart something like that again soon.

Love this place. Thank you Trionne and staff for allowing me to take photos of this vehicle on behalf of Tallahassee Ford and #JRideReviews Brand Tally.

Pleasantly surprised. The course is maintained better than some private courses. It is a very forgiving course and enjoyable. The clubhouse and patio are under construction, but everyone is vey friendly and helpful. They do need to put of signage to direct players to the holes. The directions can be a bit complicated and there are no signs directing new players which can create a little confusion

I liked the course a lot. Not a dull hole on the course. A hilly course, especially for Florida. Conditions were fine from tee to green. The staff was friendly. The thing that bothered me was the cart and yardages. The carts have GPS “light”. You can see where you are on the hole, but there is no yardage. You have to figure it out with the 150 marker or spots painted on the fairways. And there did not appear to be a ranger. The play was very slow.

Greens were excellent and very well maintained however the staff was extremely rude (specifically the gentleman who was bossing around the lawncare workers and was also behind the bar???). Player etiquette does not exist at this course. Will never be back.

I played it for the first time last week and I love this golf course . The greens are beautiful and thus golf course is well taken care of . Staff there are good people even if they don't know you . I plan on playing again this week

After hearing a stream of positive reviews about Highland Golf Course, I was genuinely excited to finally experience it for myself. Unfortunately, what awaited me was one of the most frustrating and disappointing golf outings I’ve ever had – and I’ve played more than my fair share of public and private courses. Let’s start with the course itself. Mediocre would be a compliment. The fairways were uninspired and dry in several spots, and the greens? Absolutely abysmal. Patchy, inconsistent, and poorly maintained – they completely took the joy out of any short game or putting. It's clear that ma…

Greens are in really good shape. Go early, stay late. Getting a little crowded now that college kids are back in town. Be patient.

I only had time for the driving range. It was okay. Maybe you guys can put some targets out there. Give people a challenge on their targeting skills. Thank you so much! I enjoyed it

Where Dreams Go to Die: A Round at Hilaman If you're looking for the golf experience equivalent of being mugged in a Chuck E. Cheese parking lot while blindfolded and insulted, Hilaman Golf Course is your destination. Let’s start with the staff. The cart boy had the charisma of a wet gym sock and the customer service skills of a DMV intern on a nicotine withdrawal. I asked for a scorecard, and he looked at me like I’d just requested to borrow his toothbrush. The starter, meanwhile, looked like he’d been cryogenically frozen since 1974 and rebooted just in time to mispronounce every name on the…

The back 9 are quite worth the price of playing. Really nice course and well maintained. The food on the 19th is really great as well.
