What People Say

In summary

Hillsborough Country Club is often praised for its scenic and challenging layout, with its hilly terrain and well-maintained greens providing a rewarding experience for golfers. The staff receives high marks for their friendliness and the club offers a good value for the price. However, some visitors have noted issues with course maintenance, such as rough tee boxes and inconsistent greens, and there are occasional complaints about slow pace of play and lack of course management.

Great course, a little narrow at points. Very well maintained. Great staff.

Very fun Golf Course to play as the whole course is on a hill. The course is in very good condition here's a photograph of a Par 3

This place is a gem of a gem! Great country feel! And the greens are very undulating! No fast but good!

I am going to try to be fair but 1 star might be a bit overrated. Played with former co workers we enjoy each others company. The course has crab grass all over the tees and greens. The only green you could putt on without moving your ball was #9. All the other greens needed major work. The green fee is $45 I think? I am sure the senior citizens who are local get a deal & that keeps this place open. Course was is horrible shape. We played great but you basically had to "find grass" in the fairways and we moved our balls to the portions of greens you can putt on....if that is your brand of golf…

I enjoyed my round of golf and the restaurant following the round here. The golf course was in good shape, and the greens were particularly good. They tend to run pretty quick here, and have a fair amount of undulation. You will want to hit it close if you are going to keep your score respectable.

I made a reservation for my grandson and I to play tomorrow. Imagine my surprise today when I got a text the reservation was canceled. Not sure how they can stay in business when they do this to people. I left a message for someone to call me with an explanation. - I just spoke to someone that does not work there that said allot of courses are not taking tee times because they lost power. So I am upgrading to a 3 just in case that is the issue. But the Text message I got could have had some sort of explanation on it. Would have been much appreciated.

This course is short but difficult because of hills and small greens. It has mature trees and the traps need sand. Not many people play here and you can get a good price on golf now.

The greens are in decent condition, just difficult to read the speed. The tee boxes are a little rough. The traps look decent actually have sand in them. The course ranger, if there was one, should moniter play better, slow. There is ice cold water on many holes, thank you. Not too bad really for this time of year. It's a good little course nestled in the mountains. A little more TLC and it could a terrific course.

This place used to be a dirt patch but appears to be getting better. The course is desperate for cash and runs outside events such as polo and cricket as a way to make money which affects play. Overall, not the worst but better deals at superior courses are our there.

It is a nice course, and well-maintained - challenging greens. However, the biggest problem will be with time management. There are no rangers that I saw, and at one point on # 8 (a par 3), there were four groups stacked up. On stretches on the front and back, the pace picked up, but on the short 4s and 3s the wait was beyond ridiculous.

Finally got to play here today . A bit off the beaten path, but well worth finding. Challenging and scenic course, very well maintained. Add the lunch and you have a great day of golf.

Course is in pretty rough shape. Tee boxes are mostly unkept. Greens like hole #16 are unputtable. Iron shots rarely stick on these greens. Takes one hop and skips off. Cmon guys this isn’t the US Open. Bunkers are unplayable too.
