In summary

Hopewell Valley Golf Club receives praise for its forgiving layout and friendly staff, with many appreciating the course's challenging design and well-maintained greens. However, some visitors express concerns about the condition of tee boxes, slow greens, and occasional maintenance issues, including outdated facilities and limited amenities like water stations. Additionally, there are mentions of a slow pace of play and staffing challenges at the snack shop.

One of the better courses in Mercer County and great for the amateur golfer such as myself. It's extremely forgiving with minimal trees but is still challenging. I also love that they have more par fives than most. The only reason I did not give them a five-star is the bar/restaurant could use some updating. The staff is very friendly and I would highly recommend it.

I actually wanted to give this two stars but course layout and greens were really good. Staff were also very good. Pro shop guy made us coffee, no problem, he recommended we get out early to beat an outing. The fairways and tee boxes were in bad shape. There were other signs of disrepair like a bridge being out for probably a couple of years as they had several signs custom made for the detours. I'm afraid this course might be houses in a few years.

There are many pluses to most of the county courses but over the last couple of years I've seen some very disappointing changes in the courses. The first one is the removal of water stations throughout the courses. I've complained to the Mercer county Parks commissioner personally and he told me it was too much trouble too wash the coolers. When temperatures rise into the '90s and you're trying to walk the course I feel that is a liability putting golfers at health risk. Please note that many times there are no cart girls selling any drinks and on many courses it's not practical to run back in…

The course is well maintained. The starter and ranger were both polite; they did a great job of keeping everyone moving to keep to the schedule. Grounds are beautifully kept and the flowers are a nice touch. The restaurant was clean. Go see Hanna (who was lovely) or any of the bartenders for a bucket o’ balls and a cold drink. Their version of tater tots, not only a great laugh but delicious.

Great challenging course in good condition. The snack shop at the turn is the only downfall as they're not open early (before 8am) or throughout the off-season. Edit: Dropped a star because even after MDW on a Sunny Saturday, they still have nobody working the snack shop. I'd recommend maybe having the starter work the shop if they are having a hard time staffing it.

Just opened under new management. Mercer County owners. Nice, wide open for forgiving errant drives. Large greens to shoot at. Easy picking for good players. Fun for average hackers! Good shape except tee boxes.

This is for my review of the pool. The price is good for the area but they really need to chlorinate properly and vacuum the bottom!! Last time we went the water was smelly and my toddler and I got rashes on our legs.

Great course, lot of fun to play! Walking is manageable but a cart won’t steer you wrong, hopefully… They have a driving range and a snack shack at the turn. Hot dog and snacks were just what I needed for the back 9. Booked on an app for a steal of a price!

Great course, but the starter is way to big of a stickler for getting the carts back right on time. He's aggressive We had 5 minutes and he wouldn't let anyone returning the carts drop their bags off at their car before dropping it off. Beware - if you get a cart, he's gonna be on your ass and making the day less enjoyable.

I’m writing this review using my wife’s Gmail account. Sorry to say that I will now add Hopewell to Mercer Oaks East and West to my list of “never to play again” courses. Hopefully Mountain View will not join the list. Hopewell was almost unplayable today. The tee boxes are ATROCIOUS! There is basically no grass on the tee boxes. Half of the ball washers are bone dry and the garbage containers at the tee boxes that have them were overflowing onto the ground. Completely not acceptable. Finally, DON’T go in the men’s room at the halfway house. The floor was soaked with probably close to an inch…

The course is in very good shape. We liked the layout, there are some nice risk/reward holes which make play interesting. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, we had to move our tee time back a bit and they were very accommodating. The greens were slow and some tee boxes needed to be mowed, that’s what kept me from giving 5 stars. We plan on playing the course again.

The course is coming along nicely. The greens are coming in, still a bit slow but much better now that the course is drying out.
