What People Say

In summary

Hughes Creek Golf Club is appreciated for its scenic and challenging layout, with a variety of terrain and hazards that appeal to both beginners and experienced golfers. The staff is frequently praised for their friendliness and accommodating nature, and the course is generally well-maintained, especially considering its municipal status. However, some visitors have noted issues with course maintenance, particularly concerning the condition of tee boxes, greens, and cart paths, as well as concerns about pricing and pace of play.

Hughes Creek course has an intriguing layout, and certainly better than many municipal courses. Pros: -Staff are friendly and getting the job done - Maintenance of the course is pretty good for a municipal course. -Plenty of terrain, sand, water and trees to factor in as potential hazards - Greens rolled very true for mid-season, although many ball marks were present on the greens. Cons: -I wouldn't recommend playing here after rain, as there was a lot of standing water in sand traps and on fairways. -Some tee boxes needed more maintenance and repair work -Same can be said about cart paths,…

Had a great experience at Hughes Creek! The golf course was in great shape for early in the season and you have to see the really nice gal's inside at the halfway house! I'll be back, all around had a great experience!!

The Friday Night Fish Fry is Back. July 22, 2022 4pm - 9pm the kitchen is Open. The restaurant is open and Marcelo is doing what he does best. Give it a try, check out the 2022 season with the new menu and same beautiful atmosphere that we all have grown to love. Exciting new season coming up. 2025 here we roll.

Really have enjoyed the layout of the course and the scenery and getting out here a couple times every year. Getting greedy as most courses do with tee time layout. Went the Sunday of Labor Day and took over 5 hours for a round, unbelievable! Typical when you run tee times every 8 minutes. Sad that a chill course out in the middle of nowhere charges what they do when it’s take your entire day to get through a round. Hopefully off season tee times spread out a bit more. Want to get back out here but not worth it when rounds take this long.

Wonderful course with wonderful layout. It actually requires some thought to play the holes rather than just hit straight and follow. Only complaint is its a bit pricey if your not a resident.

HIDDEN GEM…a very scenic course that offers variety from rolling hills and placement golf to long and straight, where both water and trees come into play. Both beginners and golf veterans will appreciate this course. The best part of the course is it’s people… small town, neighborhood feel. Juana, Tom, and team are wonderful in the pro shop, always accommodating when possible. The bar/restaurant service is always friendly and outgoing. The way the new management has come in and pivoted has been nothing short of exceptional. I don’t understand some of these one star reviews or the way I see peo…

Unbelievably disappointing!!! Overpriced for extremely poor course conditions. It’s like they gave up on maintaining or caring for greens, tee boxes, or even the cart paths. The surface of the moon has less craters than the tee boxes. My golf ball look like a game of plinko from hitting all the divots on the greens. I know rocky country roads in better conditions than the cart paths. Make sure to bring a back brace. I didn’t see the food cart once. The ranger lied and said there were multiple complaints about our group on pace but the group behind us couldn’t catch up. The carnival funhouse br…

Probably a great golf course, I don't know because I don't golf. Just watch yourself on Hughs road. My headlight was taken out by a golfer hitting off the tee box. The management said sorry nothing we can do. I would have had to chase down the golfer.

Always liked this course, now a park district course. Tee times scheduled too early for this time of year had a one hour delay due to frost? I didn’t see any frost and don’t think it would have impacted the condition. As of April 2025, the course could use some maintenance, T boxes were rough, cart paths deteriorating, areas around the course need treated for weeds. Fairways in good shape, greens were average, not bad but not excellent. I believe the price has been reduced over last year and still worth the value but hope it doesn’t get any worse. Also, they ran out of carts, we were asked to…

Very windy day, but course was in very good condition. Used Teeoff.com coupon and was good value. Little slow playing today as course was booked up, and we played as twosome, following another twosome following several foresomes.

Fairly easy course, fairways and greens in very good shape. Creek comes into play on about six or seven holes, but is easy to navigate. About half the tee boxes on gold tees were beat up a bit and had unlevel areas. Forward tees on number four should be places where blue and white temporarily tees are located.
