Never in my life have I experienced management like this at a golf course. Before driving 35 minutes to play, I called ahead to confirm that our group of four golfers and two riders would be allowed. I spoke with a woman who told me it was perfectly fine, that we would need three carts, and that it would be $30 per rider (which is already steep for a $30 course, but fine—we agreed). When we arrived, we were told absolutely not—only two carts per group, no exceptions, riders or not. Completely contradicting what we were told on the phone. At that point we were already there, so we paid and tr…

We had a very disappointing experience at this golf course and will not be returning. We called ahead specifically to confirm that we could play 4 people with riders and we needed three golf carts and were told over the phone that it would not be an issue just pay a rider fee. When we arrived, they suddenly changed the story and said we could only have two carts because “it slows people down.” We only have 4 players and two riders! That should have been made clear from the start instead of wasting our time. Before we even teed off on the first hole, we could overhear the woman working up fron…

I played here for the first time a week ago and really enjoyed it. The staff was really friendly. The course was fun and challenging. I will definitely be back soon and can't wait to see it this spring.

I’m extremely disappointed not only by the experience my family had at Hunter Pope Country Club, but by the way management chose to publicly respond to my mother’s review. First, my mother’s name is Katie, not Karen. Her name was clearly visible, yet management still chose to address her incorrectly. Whether intentional or careless, it came across as dismissive and disrespectful—especially given the already negative experience. That alone speaks volumes about how concerns are handled here. Instead of taking accountability, the response shifts blame, contradicts what was communicated over the…

We had an absolutely terrible experience at Hunters Pope Country Club, and it was entirely due to unprofessional, rude, and targeted behavior from management. Before arriving, management was fully informed that our group would be 4 golfers, 2 riders, and would require 3 carts. We were advised of the additional fees, agreed to them, and were told it would not be an issue. However, once we arrived, suddenly having 3 carts became a problem — despite the fact that multiple other groups on the course had 3–4 carts and were never harassed, including groups containing the club president and superint…

Always a good time down at the old pope!!! Staff is awesome very friendly and cool very professional. Prices can't beat it love the new renovations to the parking lot definitely much needed. Only complaint would be some of the greens need a little work (could just be the winter time) as well as the cart paths. But overall one of my favorite courses around!!!

Save your money!!!! This is a complete joke and the fact that they call it a Country Club is even a bigger joke!!! So thank you but we did address the issues with you personally. We insisted that they call the superintendent who was playing on the course 9 holes behind us. We had three carts which were approved before we even drove an hour there only to be told once we got there that we could not go out together as one group. The superintendent saw the three carts together and called the Marshall to complain on us while in his group, he had three and four carts. He told us this was his day off…

I don't really have any complaints about this course. I've played 18 twice and 9 three times and enjoyed it every single time. It's a well priced course and everything outside of the cart paths are well maintained by the staff. It's a really good course to sharpen your game for any skill level player and the greens and fairways are in REALLY good condition thanks to the guys who show they really care about the course they take care of. They make sure to make the course the best for big weekends like the weekend of the Masters for example. Definitely a course that majority of golfers will enjoy…
