In summary

Jimmie Austin Golf Course is frequently praised for its excellent course conditions, including well-maintained greens and fairways, as well as recent upgrades to the clubhouse and amenities. Many visitors appreciate the welcoming staff and the overall golfing experience. However, some have encountered issues with communication regarding course closures and noted areas needing improvement, such as course maintenance and staff professionalism.

Drove over an hour for a tee time booked days in advance, only to be greeted by a closed course, zero notification, and a stray dog as the welcome committee outside the clubhouse. Weather happens — communication apparently does not. The employee inside seemed inconvenienced by our presence, despite us doing exactly what customers are supposed to do: show up for a confirmed tee time. If you value your time, you may want to call them multiple times before assuming your reservation means anything.

Course was in great shape! Fairways were good and greens were best I been on this year. Not overly busy and we played at a normal pace without being hurried. Members were nice and the manager was very accommodating. We will be back!

The course is in awesome shape and the clubhouse upgrades are great with the ball, gloves and hat selection. You can tell they’ve put in a lot of work to make it better. It’s one of the best places to play around here

For a public course it is fairly well maintained and not very busy. Most days throughout the week you can just walk in and get a tee time. Not alot of amenities, but they have carts, both hand and electric.

We drove over 2 hours to this golf course and the state of the grounds leaves, to say the least, a lot to be desired. The out of bounds areas are not well marked and every tee is pretty much a sand box. The carts dont have seed sand (I had to request 3 times for some before anyone got it from the shed) and there is no seed in the cart sand which explains why half the course is dirt. We played a full 18 holes and to be generous 2 of them were in somewhat playable shape. Then to top it all off there is a worker driving around in a utility car with a long mullet who loudly talks trash to paying p…
