In summary

Legacy Ridge Golf Club is appreciated for its fun and challenging course layout, with distinct front and back nines that offer a diverse golfing experience. Many visitors commend the friendly and helpful staff, as well as the good value for the price. However, there are recurring concerns about the condition of the greens, with several noting issues like crab grass and uneven surfaces. Additionally, some guests have expressed dissatisfaction with the enforcement of the dress code and occasional booking and communication issues.

11/18/2025This was my first time playing here on my way through town. I’m told the course is under new management, and that it’s constantly improving. The staff were more than courteous and helpful both on my way in and out. The layout is scoreable and fun while still having some challenges. The front is more open with tall grass and water. The back has more trees with some elevation. I played on a Tuesday in November. It was $35 with cart. Very good value. The only downside was the bent greens weren’t in the best shape. If the current ownership gets the greens in shape, it’ll be a gem.

Hate giving a one star review but I think it’s necessary. It rained overnight in Bonham. I’m not sure how much, I live in Sherman. I tried calling the pro shop to inquire about the course before driving 35 minutes to Legacy Ridge, but didn’t get someone to pick up the phone. Upon arrival, there was nobody on the premise. So as it stands I’m out $102 for two tee times without an update on when my money will be refunded. Very disappointing that I decided to give this country club a chance, despite some of the negative reviews, and had a poor experience. Hoping the club makes this right so I can…

Played 10.11.25: this course has tons of personality. Front and back nine are completely different. Some great challenges on both with good scoring opportunities. The only problem is the greens...they need help. I hope this is addressed soon. This will not keep me from going back.

Never one to leave a bad comment. I only typically leave good ones or dont at all. 1st that little short older lady in the club house was extremely stand offish. 2nd the driving range is terrible and cant use drivers on it. 3rd the greens were extremely rough and not taken care of 4th the first few tee boxes were so uneven your driver hits ground before the ball 6th it was 100 bucks for two people to play. Sure 100 bucks is a little on the high side but to have terrible attitudes and crappy course is not worth 100 bucks. The only person we ran into that was nice was a guy name Ron. Pretty co…

So the facility and the course itself are beautiful . The staff is super friendly in particular Clarissa was very helpful. The maintenance of the greens however left a lot to be desired. Some portions of them unfair to putt on. I would go back just because the staff is so nice. However, the greens and the course conditions are not worth the price they are charging. Also the tee markers are so small we had trouble finding some of the tee boxes. In all fairness, the weather has not been all that great,so I will give them some time to get things in order and try again soon.I hope they are able to g…

Drove 40 minutes to play at this course with my teenage son. Was dress coded and said I needed a collard shirt to play. Front desk person stated you may have time to run to walmart ( 20-min til tee time). No where on their web site does it state this. Would not recommend.

Me and my husband play almost twice a week all over dfw area and I have NEVER been dress coded for not wearing a collared shirt. We have even been to this course a couple of times already and nothing was said those times. I agree with everyone that has posted a review before me. Also like stated already, the front 9 are in pretty bad shape. Today’s visit was unpleasant and we most likely won’t be back.

I was looking very forward to playing here. But I have never played greens so bad. Almost every green seems to be mostly crab grass cut low. Impossible to get a proper putt. Where the crab grass has been killed there is no grass at all. I asked an employee after I played 12 holes and they said yes the greens are unplayable. They said they sprayed them today. That may kill the crab grass but does nothing to put grass back in its place. I would call ahead and ensure this problem is resolved before going and spending money on an 18 hole driving range. Very disappointing.

Just played this beautifully tough course yesterday. My only complaint is the guy cutting the grass seem to follow me from Tbox to fairway for 3-4 holes which became somewhat of a distraction. I finally stopped playing and let him get as many holes ahead of me as possible. Not a complaint against him, he's doing his job. I just have to be tougher mentally. Can't wait to play Legacy again. Great course!!

Service was great and I like the rearrangement of the clubhouse check in. Greens need some work. Fairways and tee boxes in good condition.

Requires a collar shirt for the driving range... A driving range you can’t even hit a driver on. I’ve never had a course turn me away from hitting an expensive bucket of balls because I wasn’t in a collar shirt. But hey, the course design is fun.
