Links on the Bayou

Found the course to be exceptional for the price compared to other courses I have played that were priced higher and not as impressive. Somewhat of a forgiving course with enough challenge to test your skills. The fairways and greens were well maintained and very nice. The club house has everything you would expect and more. The cafe has a great selection of menu items and plenty of adult beverages to keep you satisfied. They offer discounts for military (active duty and veteran), which was a pleasant surprise. I thoroughly enjoyed the course and will return.

Just as others have stated, this is course is a must play if you are in the area. I am stationed at Fort Polk and have only played Warrior Hills on the installation. I regret waiting so long to drive to Alexandria for a round of golf. It is definitely worth the hour drive to get there from Polk. The wide open links style is great for players like me. Only lost one ball on the opening hole when I hooked it left out of bounds. The greens hold the ball well. Very well maintained course and was a great value for the greens fee.

Good Golf course and friendly staff. A true American Links style course with a good mix of challenges. Great practice facilities with a range, putting green, chipping green, and a large short game area.

Championship calibre golf course provides the best value for your dollar. Meticulously maintained, tees for all skill levels, excellent aesthetics, great greens, easy walking, quality carts, generous fairways and forgiving rough, helpful staff, professional practice area. I’m gushing because this course is absolutely perfect for players who want to play a great course without breaking the bank.

The workers are the best there is, super friendly and always willing to help. Course is in great condition. Food there is spectacular.

I really like the course but I will tell you, if you ever play the course by yourself, don't hit more than one ball because they will run you off, I was told by the starter to go ahead and hit a few extra balls because the course wasn't very busy so I did and man did they ever get nasty with me, I was told that if wanted to hit more than one ball, there is a driving range for that, there was not a soul behind me, I was actually playing behind a 4sum and a 3sum so I was having to wait to play. The pro let's his Buddy run his mouth and start trouble, then the pro gets in your face while his buddy is cussing you, and he's telling us to jump ahead two holes when we are trying to play, I love the course, it's the pro that's the problem. He talks about golf educate but he's playing radio bothering other players. Him and his buddies were acting drunk.

We just had our league event at this facility and the course was better than any public course that we have in the Shreve port area. We drove an hour and a half but have no regrets. In fact, we are already planning another trip down to play it again. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The pro shop and dining area are very clean and well kept. The course was in amazing shape and we have been 100+ temps for the last six weeks.

Course was great. Very wide fairways good greens. Made tee time about 2 weeks in advance and we are 3 hrs away, got there they had a tournament said we did not have tee time. They made it right and let us go in front of Tournament. Has this event but did not have restaurant open nor was driving range. Had one person working inside trying to register and take care of drinks and ice in a different room. Cart girl was super. Worth playing and will again and maybe have better experience.

GREAT course that I’ve played since 2013 - In recent years however the scheduler or the individual starting is sending out groups of 5 on top of each other - Today there was 4 groups of 5 and mixed in a 4 of walkers - My round took 6hrs and 23 min. Absolutely absurd. No Marshal either. Pace of play and golf etiquette need to become a priority at this course again. Oak Wing will get my business moving forward. Ridiculous. Do better Links management.
