In summary

Llano River Golf Course is praised for its beautiful setting along the Llano River, well-maintained greens, and reasonable pricing, making it a popular choice for golfers of all levels. The new clubhouse and friendly staff enhance the overall experience, and the course offers a variety of challenges with its tight layout and long par 3s. However, some visitors have noted issues with slow pace of play, particularly on weekends, and occasional management or maintenance concerns.

Just over an hour drive from NW Austin for around $20 bones...out of the city, away from the noise...hell ya'. Course is in great condition as of this post. Labor Day 2025.

I grabbed a 17 dollar hot deal. Pro shop was new and clean. Carts were newer as well. Their greens are 🔥🔥. Greens are in perfect shape. The rest of the course not so much. The bones of the course is there. The gentleman stated they are trying to get everything back from the record winter storm a few weeks back. Enjoyed the round. I would recommend if you are around Llano, TX. Thanks!

This course just keeps getting better and better. The greens are in great condition and the fairways are getting nice and green as well. I played this course on October 14th 2023 and decided to play 36 holes. The front 9 in my opinion is a bit tougher. It can be tight in places. The back 9 is more open but don't let it fool you. I was even fortunate enough to play while the eclipse was happening.

I give it a five because it truly blew away my initial expectations. The price of $25.00 w/ cart was beyond fair. And the greens are Bent Grass! Beautiful Bent Grass! You may never get a chance to play greens like this anywhere right now. The course is tight at times and the greens are small. All the Par 3s are fairly long and challenging. Treat yourself to a road trip Austin.

Called and spoke with Scott (the person in charge) and told him I was interested in getting a membership and cart rental space. He was extremely rude and said he would get back to me. I called twice the next few days and he was too busy to respond, but said he would return my phone call. Never heard back from him of course and decided if that’s how it’s being operated I don’t need the hassle. Good greens horrible management.

Satisfactory in all categories. $20 walking rate. Fairways could be better but not horrible by any means given the $20 rate. Greens were firm but pure. Not a single complaint about the greens. Drove 2hrs to play, got some light rain, but the round was still great. Pack a lunch and have a day. Pace of play 4hrs flat walking.

Just returned from staying in the Llano area and playing here with eight others for our annual men's family golf outing. This is our second time playing here and the people are the best. The new clubhouse is so much better than the previous facility and the carts are new, gas and in great shape. This is a fun course that is great for all levels. As noted in another review, the greens are in fantastic shape. The remainder of the course is also in good shape although there were a couple of areas holding water from recent storms. It is in a great setting along the Llano River, although water only…

Relaxing city owned golf course, running along the shores of the Llano river. The course is in excellent shape with large, very full and smooth greens and the fairways are equally as nice and all for a very reasonable fee. Very new clubhouse and beautiful outdoor covered venue for the 19th hole overlooking the Llano river. The golf carts are new gas Yamaha carts, and there is a driving range and putting green. Also there is a nice adjoining RV park offering a deal where you can combine golf and RVing at a very reasonable rate. I highly recommend this course and cannot wait to enjoy it again.

Greens are decent, that is it. Complete clown show especially on the weekend. Groups of 6-10 in 5-7 carts are not uncommon with boom boxes cranked up to 11, you don't want to be in a twosome of even 4 player group behind them or you could end up with a 6 hour round. Zero respect shown for the greens as cart tracks run right up to the short grass and all around it. Course seriously needs someone to ride around a little and enforce some basic, common sense rules, maybe then a few more stars would be deserved.
