In summary

Lora Bay Golf Club is appreciated for its beautiful and challenging course layout, with several standout holes and well-maintained greens. The staff is often described as friendly and attentive, and the clubhouse receives positive mentions for its food offerings. However, some visitors express dissatisfaction with the high green fees, ongoing bunker renovations, slow pace of play, and lack of on-course amenities such as beverage service and ice.

With a course under renovation, I didn’t feel a green fee of $180 was justified. Many bunkers unattended, weeds and no sand. Many bunkers being repaired, some of the bunkers have been removed and sodded over, which hasn’t taken yet! At least let me know of the work being done and I can make a better decision on whether I want to spend that much on the course. Great layout, challenging, beautiful views. Tees and greens in great condition. Lunch!! $57 for 2 sandwiches, 1 wrap and 2 bottles of water!! Come on! It will be a long time before I return

Beautiful course. I have played here years before and the course is in much better shape now. There is about 5-6 stunning holes on this course: numbers 1, 2, 9, 15 and 16 were my favourites. My only criticism, although not environmentally friendly, would be that you cut down the trees lining the 17th and 18th holes so that you can see Georgian Bay. Also, the course is very expensive. I would play again

Interesting layout, fast greens, and a real fun, challenging course. I will definitely be returning here in the near future! Good food in the clubhouse, and the staff were attentive and friendly. Only real negative is the lack of facilities. No men's or ladies change rooms available.

Played Lora Bay for my birthday, and unfortunately, it was a big letdown. We had high hopes going in, especially after playing Cobble Beach the previous evening—which completely blew us away. Given that Lora Bay was even more expensive (despite us playing twilight at Cobble), we expected something special. It wasn’t. Right from the start, things felt off. We arrived about 50 minutes before our tee time, only to be questioned by the marshal about why we were so early. He told us we couldn’t access the practice area until 30 minutes before our tee time, which felt unreasonable. Once we got on…

I was excited to play Lora Bay and it was a major disappointment for what you pay and what you actually receive . The clubhouse is very nice and it goes downhill once you get on the course. The pace of play was slow and we waited every shot and was told there were Marshall’s out but we never saw one. It was close to 40 degrees out and there are no ice boxes on the carts and no water available on the course. The cart girl never was seen until Hole 12 and we only saw her that once. At 220 $ a round and an extremely hot day one cooler with water would have be appropriate. The course conditions…

Great course that was in amazing shape. The staff were super friendly and beer cart was frequent. If you're looking for a place to golf in the neighbourhood I highly recommend going here.

Great track fantastic staff and if you’re hungry they make the best Cubano sandwich. Honestly best sandwich I have ever had on a golf course

Lora bay was great, the course was well maintained and it was a challenging golf experience. For the price of a round I'd expect carts to be stocked with ice and water bottles.

This course is breathtaking. Portions of the course really impressed our group of 12. I think with time and a return visit I would be willing to amend my review. Reasons for a 1 star. The bunkers are basically all under repair. Bunkers are being removed and added throughout the course. The golf cart software did not show these updated renovations to the course. Some bunkers have been left to be overgrown... no sand in them. As a golfer who likes to play shots as they lie I was extremely frustrated as at least 50% of the holes had some sort of bunker renovation going on. They seem to be focusin…

The golf course is still a jewel but some of the bunkers are in bad shape. When we played in July, there was no beverage service on the golf course. We were not the only people complaining about it. The restaurant was empty when we had appetizers there. One server was very attentive but her manager was just obnoxious making the restaurant her personal office. No music and no ambiance as well. The starter at the golf course reprimanded us for using a small section of the road with the golf cart since we missed the entrance to the first tee. Better signage would solve that problem. This golf…

Upon arrival we were greeted by the 2 old grumpy guys from the muppets. Rude and condescending because we arrived 45 minutes early for our tee time. We arrived early to check in and go to the range. The starter Bob was a pleasure to chat with prior to our tee shots. The course was in terrible condition. Bunkers over grown with grass and weeds. Hasn't rained in a week or more but fairways and roughs are soggy and wet. The $180 fee is outrageous for these conditions. Customers should be advised of the poor conditions before teeing and given the option of not playing. No food and beverage cart on…
