In summary

Mather Golf Course is frequently praised for its well-maintained fairways, accommodating layout, and friendly, knowledgeable staff, particularly in the pro shop. The setting is appreciated for its wildlife and the course's ability to drain well after rain. However, some visitors have expressed concerns about the behavior of the marshals, citing instances of rudeness and pressure to play faster, especially when tournaments are scheduled. Additionally, there have been mixed reviews regarding the condition of the greens and bunkers, with some noting improvements over time.

Mike, who runs the pro shop here, is an absolute expert. I brought in a set of clubs I had recently purchased, but they had clearly been assembled poorly—misaligned shafts, a sloppy epoxy job, and very little attention to detail overall. Mike took the time to completely re-shaft them with upgraded shafts and did a phenomenal job. The final result was flawless: perfectly aligned, well-balanced, and with a clean finish—no excess epoxy or shortcuts. On top of the quality of the work, he turned the job around incredibly quickly and had my clubs ready to play again in record time. Mike is also ex…

It was hot! The course was in great shape. Wide fairways with some trees. Not too challenging, but fun. Amazing price. I would come here again. Also, really cool to see all the wildlife. Turkeys, Coyotes, squirrels and rabbits all over.

This is a solid course for beginners with forgiving fairways and a great staff. The greens can be a little rough, so putting can be a challenge, but everything else is top notch!

Love this course! Very nice greens and the people are friendly. It's a Generals course so all the greens slope towards the runway.

I've played here many times with no issues until today. On the 14th hole I was approached by a man playing two groups behind me, claiming to be the head Marshal. He immediately started to aggressively accusing me of jumping holes, but I was playing behind the same group the entire time, but lost two players after 9 holes. You shouldn't be accusing people of something without having right information, and not actually working. Thank you to Mike in the pro shop for listening to my feedback after the round. It was extremely slow pace of play and after this incident, I will not be playing this cou…

One of my favorite courses; however, the greens are in the worst shape I have ever seen. Edit: Now that several months have past, the course and greens are in much better condition.

The marshals are the absolute worst I have ever encountered. We arrived 2 minutes before our tee time and we're GRILLED for not being 5 minutes early. We should have taken this as a bad sign but we decided to play on as we just spent $70+ each to play here. Every single hole we had marshals on us telling us we're going way too slow and "the pros behind us" we're being slowed down. They literally watched us as we played, and chewed us out for "taking too long". Mind you we were keeping up with the group in front of us. But apparently they just wanted us off the course all together. Turns out…

Pretty decent course, nice wide open fairways not too many obstacles. Watch out for the coyotes but besides that not a bad course

I played the best golf round of my life here, I shot 8 pars that day and I couldn’t enjoy the experience because of the marshals. Long story short the marshals were rude and telling me and my friends to play faster because they have a tournament behind us. If you have a tournament going on don’t put people who are not pros in front of pros. The marshals said they didn’t want to lose the revenue. Well I play golf about 12 times a year so how much revenue did they lose by driving me and my friends away.

What happened? The two things you could always count on at Mather were good conditions and friendly staff. Well, the friendly staff is still there. The greens are spotty at best and littered with weeds. The only bunkers with sand are nine and eighteen. The green aprons are all crab grass. It was actually a bummer playing there. I hope they figure it out.

The course is in great condition. Each course is different from each other not too narrow.
