Meadowbrook Golf Course

The course was beautiful and well maintained for a public course. This was my friend’s first time golfing, so we decided that playing a scramble would be best for us. Steve the starter made it unnecessarily stressful. From the beginning, he started criticizing us. After asking if we’ve played here before, he rudely inform us all of these rules that weren’t clearly posted anywhere or told to us. The normal starter is a bit abrasive and some of the fairways pool an unbelievable amount of water (lost two balls to shin high pools middle fairway), but an otherwise good public course that has a mix of nice, chill holes and some long, challenging par 4's and 5's. I would recommend putting on the putting green beforehand as the green speeds are not very consistent, in my experience, so having an idea of what they feel like will save some strokes.

There are plenty of great golf courses to choose from that don’t have Tom the starter running things. If you’re going to pair up golfers who don’t know each other, there should be a way to match by skill or experience level. We were paired with a 20-year-old who acted like he was a pro but played so slowly that Tom eventually had to come out and tell us to speed things up, making it look like we were the problem. To get away from him, we ended up skipping two holes—which was disappointing, especially since it was my birthday and we had paid full price but couldn’t even finish the full nine. We…

Great course with excellent greens and challenging holes. Staff has always been friendly. I always love playing here.

Golf course is awesome. Well maintained and well laid out. Has plenty hazards and lots of water. Well worth the two balls I lost.

Great golf course with amenities and challenging greens. Customer service is top notch and the rates are reasonable. A river runs through it and makes for an interesting course.

It’s a beautiful course, but starting out today was miserable. The guy Steve at the starter shack thinks he’s the golfing god and he’s so rude. It made our golfing stressful before we even got started. He provides a service, he’s not the king.

Beautiful course. Not so great experience. Kristy the course manager was rude and unprofessional. Ben the Marshall, followed us around harassing us to pick up the pace.. (we were 15 min a hole and keeping up) he even lied and said that there were 3 empty holes in front of us.. which was not true cos we skipped a hole to even things out and we ran into the course manager lagging behind in front of us. When we tried to express our unhappiness about how rushed we felt, she was super rude and unapologetic. Pretty greens, but Too expensive to be that rushed. It wasn’t very fun in the end.

We enjoyed stopping in this afternoon. It's a nice looking course. I say "looking" because we only hit balls at the range. To stop in, and hit a couple buckets was a great ending to our day. We're on a road trip, and are Cedar Rapids for a couple days. Thanks for the fun!

Golf course was in good shape, 3 tough holes. Other holes can easily par. Staff was on point. Nice club house but Marcos pizza runs the other side which caught us off guard. Not a huge deal to us but different. Great patio to watch the last hole. BRING BUG SPRAY, flies ate us up. We will come back in the future.

Nice course, rude staff. We payed for our tee time and golf cart at the clubhouse and then drove the cart up to the attendant to ask if we were ok to proceed to hole 1. He said “I don’t know who the **** you are” he then told us to sign our wavers for the golf carts we were already given. He continued to make rude remarks until we left. Very unprofessional. I’ve played here before but will go to one of the other courses in Rapid after this experience.

Great golf course I grew up on as a kid. Go back to play 30 years later and experience some of the slowest play I've ever experienced. When I said something to the group ahead of me about their slow play they cussed me out when I cuss back at them one of their players decides to try to assault me in the middle of the course. When I report it to the Marshall he tells me it's my fault for saying anything to them and that it's perfectly understandable why the man decided to physically assault me in the middle of his golf course and did nothing about it.
