In summary

Rocky Knolls Custer Golf Club is highly praised for its well-maintained 9-hole course, beautiful scenery, and friendly staff, making it a favorite among visitors to the Black Hills area. Golfers appreciate the challenging layout, which offers a mix of narrow fairways and domed greens, as well as the stunning views of the surrounding landscape. While some find the greens to be slow and the rental clubs to be of average quality, the overall experience is considered enjoyable and worth the visit, with the club's amenities and welcoming atmosphere adding to its appeal.

The course is a 9 hole course but we played it twice. The staff was great and the course was in unbelievable condition. Great tee boxes and best greens I have been on this season. Plus the views from any angle was incredible.

Nice to have a beautiful laid-back golf course in a small town. Town's only 2,000 yet has plenty of restaurants, sightseeing and things to do in the area. Photos show some nice day trips, or free camping in the National Forest.

This course requires good course management for the first few holes and allows for smash and go on the back half. Something for everyone. The greens are in great shape and unbelievably soft. They do play very slow. This will be on my itinerary every time i visit the area

Well maintained in a nice setting. Greens are slow with lots of slope Everyone is pleasant and courteous, the only thing keeping it from 5 stars is the fees.I think its a little overpriced even though it is a tourist area.

Played a round while camping. Great course, a few narrow fairways. The course was in great condition. Easy to walk, we will be back next time we are in Custer!

Fun course with decent scenery, but if going to charge $20 for rental clubs for 9 holes, would recommend getting nicer sets than Strata

Loved it. Ponderosa Pines, granite rocks, green fairways, fast greens, deer & turkeys plus a hard working staff.

Nice 9 hole course. They don't tell you there are only 9 holes and you replay those 9 if you pay for 18 holes. And they do not give refunds when you find this out too late. Know before you go.

Super friendly woman that helped us. Didn't charge us for rental clubs. Good course for the price.
