In summary

Montlake Golf Club is praised for its unique and challenging layout, beautiful setting, and friendly staff, making it a worthwhile experience for many golfers. However, the course condition receives mixed reviews, with several visitors noting issues with the greens, tee boxes, and overall maintenance. Despite these concerns, the club offers good value for money, especially for those looking for an affordable and enjoyable round of golf.

I played the front 9 this afternoon. I found the course to be in pretty good shape considering the lack of rain. The greens need a little help but, I assume they'd be much better with some rain also. The woman at the front desk was very friendly and helped point me to the first hole as this was my first time there. I played the front tee boxes as I'm not a great golfer and I could easily see that I don't have the shots in my bag to make some of those longer drives. Even from the front tees I found it to be challenging. I really enjoyed my round there and look forward to actually playing the en…

Super cool and unique course. It's short but very challenging, lots of slopes and tight tee shots. Conditions are bad, tee boxes are very firm long them are hardpan, greens need improvement also. But the rates are fair and the layout has character. Good place to have a relaxing fun round.

Beautiful area. The golf course itself is rough and not very green. Could be it hasn’t come in yet, but it’s rough going. Lots of hills, many water hazards and big rocks. The area is very pretty but who thought this was a good place for a golf course? The staff is wonderful. Super friendly people working here.

I loved this place. Only played the front 9, but each hole had it's own character and difficulty. Price is right, too. Just a couple picks: greens not in the best shape in October, but I guess that's kinda pricey to maintain. Also, no amenities the entire course! No trash cans, ball washing stations, etc. Still, I recommend.

Never again… our club was having an outing so we said let’s take a drive. Mistakes were made, the greens are a horror show, nothing is rolling on those things and the fairways are basically fields that need mowed. A guy from the group behind us in a band t-shirt and cutoff shorts hit over me from the tee box and it barely missed my ankle. He then drove all the way up to us to ask where his bail was and then tried to start a fight when I said that he almost hit me. His excuse… he drives over 150, what do I expect. I told the guy in the office, his solution, offer me a raincheck and he’ll give t…

Pros: 1. Great Views 2. Cheap ($22 for two to ride on Sunday!) 3. Relatively challenging with many blind shots 4. Ball washers Cons: 1. The greens are total garbage with huge patches of dirt and bare ground (see photos) 2. The fairways are cut very tall and do not play favorably even on good drives. 3. The tee boxes are sloped in many places and not well maintained. Similar to the greens. This could be an amazing and beautiful course of some care and maintenance we’re shown to it. For the money, it was a good day out.

This course will challenge you and you’re gonna need to hit some straight shots off the tee as these fairways are pretty tight. That being said, the course is in great shape right now aside from some bare spots on the tee boxes. The greens were a little slower compared to some of the other local courses I play, but they look fantastic.

In my first time back after 10+ years, my family and I were rudely greeted and told they closed golf 10 minutes before we walked in. We decided to putt on the practice green, and after a short while a member of the staff came out irate saying our two year old had left marks from his toy club. While I accept responsibility for his marks, they weren’t divots or anything close to deserving the attitude we received. On top of this, the course was just as I remembered it - in terrible shape with balls bouncing all over on the practice green (as shown in the picture). Avoid this place - there are…

Our go to golf course. New owners are improving it all the time. Very challenging! We play there once a week. Love it!

Montlake gets a 4 due to the great layout and gorgeous views. Elevation changes, undulations, water and other geographic features really keep you on your toes when planning your shot. The grass, in places, could be better. It has improved since last season. There is a practice putting green and a “batting cage” to warm up with full shots pre round.

One of the prettiest layouts you'll ever see. Unfortunately, the course condition needs work. The value is pretty good, and it's not too crowded.

It’s just way too high for the greens to have divots of mud, tee-boxes are all mud, fairways are shin high. Beautiful course, that has tons of potential. It’s just a shame to pay $40 for a course that plays like my backyard when I don’t mow.
