In summary

Mountain View Golf Course is often praised for its beginner-friendly layout with wide fairways and a mix of Par 3, 4, and 5 holes, making it suitable for new and intermediate golfers. Many visitors appreciate the friendly staff and improvements under new management, particularly regarding the greens and sprinkler system. However, some golfers express concerns about the course's maintenance, citing issues with the rough being too long and greens having patches, as well as occasional noise from groundskeeping activities.

The staff was very nice and friendly! I was very surprised how well they keep this course up. The tee boxes have plush grass, the greens are in great shape with the exception of a few holes where weather could've possibly caused some damage there. This is definitely a great course for someone who's either beginning golf or is looking for forgiveness considering how wide the course is! It's pretty straight course, no slopes, or tall grass that you have to hit out of. I love the mixture of Par 3,4, and 5s!!!

Best round I've ever shot! 92! M40:26hdc Started really golfing seriously last year but have only played 3 rounds this year (2025). Just had some lucky putts and shots. I really enjoyed the front 9 layout. With an early tee time, I didn't love shooting into the sun on 2. Other than that I have nothing bad to say. $5 for a bucket of balls about 35 was a perfect warm up before the round. The roughs were a bit deep that it was sometimes difficult to find your ball if you ended up in the rough.

I like how the driving range is grass, not a big fan of hitting off mats. (You may be looking in to the sun near sundown and not be able to see your ball well FYI) The pro shop is great, helped my wife join a women's league and now she loves golf! Good food and pleasant people. The course / greens have a few areas they need to work on in the spring, but I usually score pretty well here

"Mountain View: Where Golfing Dreams Turn into Rustic Nightmares" Ah, Mountain View Golf Course, where the art of making a course more challenging is defined not by strategically placed obstacles or intriguing features, but rather by an innovative combination of neglect and acoustical assault. Here, your journey of self-discovery begins on the greens, where grass is not so much mowed as left to die in peace, withering away to reveal an exciting terrain akin to the moon's surface. The hobbling, unpredictable bounce of the ball will have you re-evaluating the laws of physics themselves, one st…

Overall not too bad. This course will eat balls alive. Their rough is ridiculously long and the grain is always flowing with the direction you hit your ball making it impossible to find, you can even lose them in the fairway. Greens are pretty rough but still playable. Can def get better bang for buck at most other courses here in the valley.

Have you ever wanted to play a course that has hazards on the greens?!? Well now you can at Mountain View! Where you never know which green will have a giant mud pit or a dozen small sand traps built right into the putting surface.

Open fairways and decent greens. A couple holes were not the best. My best shot from the tee was on that hole 7 and when I hit the fairway it didn’t look like much of a fairway I was playing in dirt. 3 stars because they don’t have a treat cart or water fill-ups on the course. Super thirsty by end of the 9th hole. The groundskeeper and staff was super helpful, my friend loss his phone in the course and they let him look around for it.

Worst cafe lady I’ve ever met!! You guys have someone here so rude doesn’t care about her customers! Is constantly in the back! Worst customer service of my life!! You guys need to find someone else! Customers literally waiting 30 mins for her to walk out. Ridiculous! Been dealing with this for months! Something should be done!

Great course, very popular. I generally assign a slow golfer so I don't like to be rushed with people behind me, but there must have been 7 groups on the front 9. Beautiful course well taken care of. It would be nice to have a few water holes, or ball cleaners.

Great course for new/intermediate golfers, the greens are getting much better under new management. Fairways are wide and the rough isn’t terribly thick. Chill pressure from other golfers helps also. Fairways are wide and the rough isn’t terrible compared to some courses. River oaks isn’t forgiving at all compared to Mountain View.

I golf here at least twice a week. Easy course, don't have to worry about missing shots into water. Never super busy, they always have the tee times I need!

I’ve never left a review for a golf course before, but these guys earned this one. The tee time website feels like it was developed by Matthew Broderick in War Games. The front desk guys are as about as welcoming as the teenagers working at Ross. The course is in as good of shape as the old Candlestick Park. The greens have more bald spots than Vin Diesel. If you like wasting your money, this is the course for you.
